Get those sock tubes ready to cut!! Not all heels are created equal as far as our feet go and our preference on heel fit! In this workshop we will specifically focus on the ‘Afterthought Heel’. You finish the sock ‘tube’ first, either from toe to cuff or cuff to toe, and put in the heel afterwards. This workshop is for you if you have been wanting to try an afterthought heel but the thought of cutting into your knitting is scary. We will focus on how to count your rows, heel placement, and get our scissors out!
Come prepared for this workshop with a sock tube or 2 (in fingering weight) that you want to learn something new.....We will have some sock tubes for purchase if required.
The pattern we will be working off is a free pattern on Raverly called ‘Back to Basics: Socks’ by Melinda Measor
Required material:
Minimum of 1 sock tube from Cuff to Toe in your preferred length
Circular needles minimum of 22” the size you knit your tube.
Darning needle, Opening stitch markers (coil less markers), Scrap yarn, Scissors
