Joji Locatelli has a new pattern today! Did you like the Super Simple Summer Sweater? Did you like Susurrus? Rituals takes elements from both of these designs, worked in DK weight yarn for a sweater that is both light and quick to work. It is worked seamlessly from the top down with a circular yoke, alternating bands of stripes and textured stitches.

The gauge is 19.5 sts and 30 rows 4” 10 cm on (4 mm (US 6) needles in stockinette stitch. Before you measure, take the time to wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your sweater.

Suggested yarns include Berroco Vintage DK, Madelinetosh Tosh DK or Malabrigo Arroyo. What about using Rowan Felted Tweed?

Ursina by Jacqueline Cieslak is a classic sweater with simple construction and unique detailing. It is a rework of heer URSA sweater pattern, which was designed for bulky weight yarn in 9 sizes. This new pattern has been graded for both sport and worsted weight in 12 sizes. The sweater is constructed from the top-down with raglan shaping for the sleeves, optional horizontal bust darts in 6 cup sizes, and instructions and yardage details for cropped or full length. Like the original pattern, URSINA includes directions to try it on as you work and notations to help you tweak the size according to your preference.

To choose your size, measure the circumference of your torso around the fullest part of your chest and choose the size that fits with 2-6” of positive ease. If you are between sizes, you can size up or down depending on whether you want more or less ease in the bicep.

This sweater is designed for either a sport or worsted weight wool/wool blend so gauge, needle sizes and suggested yarns would depend on which version you want to knit. If you would like a rustic yarn in a sport weight, I would suggest Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport. For a softer sport weight yarn, you could use Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light.

The original Ursa is chunky, bold, snuggly, fierce. With simple construction and interesting detailing, this cropped bulky weight pullover is a quick and enjoyable knit. The sweater is constructed from the top-down with raglan shaping for the sleeves and optional horizontal bust darts in 3 cup sizes. The pattern includes directions to try it on as you work and notations to help you tweak the size (including the length, if cropped isn’t your thing!) according to your preference. Also included in the pattern are links to custom video tutorials that will walk you through the techniques for half brioche stitch and German short rows.

Knit it using Malabrigo Mecha, Berroco Vintage Chunky, or Istex Alafosslopi.

Are you ready to gift knitting? Christmas is coming all too soon! Here is Veris I by Natasja Hornby which she designed in collaboration with with Helle, a good friend and the talented dyer behind TheDanishDyelot.

Her beautiful colors inspired me to design a stylish, cozy hat with a matching set of mttens that are super fun to knit and a delight to wear. The slip stitch pattern enhances almost every color combo you can think of, and the hat looks just as good in very distinct and contrasting colors as in something more ton-sur-ton.
Dream up your perfect color combo and go and enjoy yourself!

Veris is worked in the round, from the brim to the crown. The pattern is both written and charted with these finished measurements: circumference approx 50 cm / 19.5” and height approx 24 cm / 9.5”, to fit a head of 53 - 57 cm / 21 - 22.5” circumference.

Pictured are the Veris Mittens and Hat knit by Mbertram. The Veris II is the pattern for the mittens! If you put both the hat and the mittens in your Ravelry cart before October 11th, you will get the second pattern free.

Please place both patterns in your cart before purchasing them. You can also purchase one of the patterns first. Once that is downloaded in your library, you can download the other pattern for free by clicking the buy it now button.

The hat has a gauge of 17 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in Slip Stitch Honeycomb using 4.0 mm (US 6) and 4.5 mm (US 7) needles. The mittens have a gauge of 20 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in Slip Stitch Honeycomb using 3.75 mm (US 5) and 4.0 mm (US 6) needles.

For a really quick knit hat, this is Calzetta by Justyna Lorkowska. Knit it using one skein of Malabrigo Rasta and finish it with a snap-on pompom just like penchant4yarn did here!

WIP's and FO's

My Susurrus by Joji Locatelli that I was knitting for the Joji Fall KAL 2020 is off my needles! I love everything about this one!

https://images4-f.ravelrycache.com/uploads/Sue2Knits/733703849/2B1D1FD4-EE7E-4230-B8BE-CE81BD9F64C6_medium2.jpeg

I cast on for the size 4 and followed the size 4 until Section 5. Then I skipped Section 6 and 7 to shorten the yoke by the 30 rows of those sections.

In the ALL sizes section, I changed to Yarn C and knit 11 rounds (from size 3), then followed size 4 directions for the short rows since I had the size 4 stitch count. I divided the body and sleeves with the size 4 stitch counts ending with 272 stitches for the body and then knit 2 rounds (from size 3) to finish the mohair section.

I knit my sleeves with the same 4 lace sections and 3 mohair sections before the 2x2 ribbed cuffs as the body. The sleeves are a 3/4 length.

On my needles is Ashes by Joji Locatelli which is also for the #jojifallkal2020! I am using Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair and 80/20 Sock in Beach Glass.

I originally cast on 115 stitches following the pattern but I frogged it and started over again because I want a narrower wrap than the 24.75" width of the pattern's finished width. I cast on 91 stitches to eliminate 2 repeats of the lace pattern.

I am using 3.5 mm (US 4) straight needles for mine.

**If you have ever wondered, I am a loose knitter and have to usually go down one needle size in order to get gauge!
