Friday, January 10, 2020, Issue 129: A little late but a very Happy New Year to you!

I can't believe it has been almost two weeks since my last post! It is January so that means that I have been doing inventory! I wish I could say that doing inventory is a fun job but I am finished! Now to get back to winter knitting...

If you follow me on social media then you have seen the photos of the vests that I knit my grandsons!

The finished vests with sterling done, ribbing added but not blocked!

Here are the finished vests with steeking done, ribbing added but not blocked! I used charts from tincanknits’ Dog Star and parts of Ann Kingstone’s Port and Starboard. I knit them with Regia 6 Ply Tweed to make them kid friendly.

I finished the three stranded vests that I was knitting for my grandsons to match the pullover I knit the youngest for his first birthday!

Here are the boys wearing them with the youngest wearing his matching Dogstar sweater! It wasn't easy getting to all stand still for photos...they really wanted the cheetos that someone had behind me!

Finished the Zigzagular socks by Susie White knit using Urth Uneek Socks! Heels and toes in SweetGeorgia Tough Love Socks.

Andrea Mowry’s Nightshift

Want to learn how to do mosaic knitting starting with Andrea Mowry's Nightshift Shawl? We will be starting a new Pre-Pay Knit-Along Classes for blocks of weeks. Since we are going to start mid-month, the first set will be for 6 classes. After that it will be for the month so if there are 4 Wednesdays, then it will be $40. Come the weeks you want or come to all of them.

We will start with the Nightshift Shawl - the pattern is not included. You will need to purchase it through the shop (Ravelry In-Store Sales) or from Ravelry yourself. Choose your yarn or combine with some yarn stash and have fun! Kathy will be there to guide you along! After that, we will choose another great pattern for either another mosaic shawl or something else entirely!

The October Hat by Sloan Rosenthal is the latest of Kelbourne Woolens free hat patterns for 2019 - one for each month!

Want to learn to knit cables? The October Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. The hat begins with a provisional cast on, and then a deep knit 2, purl 2 ribbing is worked. An intricate, modern cable panel pattern is worked for the body of the hat and integrated decreases shape the crown. Jen will also teach the adventurous how to cable without a cable needle.
