Does it feel like summer is officially here? Are you are making use of cottons, cotton blends and linens or fingering weight yarns for some summer knits to wear?
Looking for a one skein project? Here’s the What you want is in your stash box by eri shimizu.
What you want is in your stash box - is an irregular trapezoidal scarf. It is worked sideways, starting from one edge to the other. It is a scarf-shawl pattern easy knit even for beginners and inspired by a conversation with a friend who is not used to knitting. It is easily modifiable and you can make a shawl or scarf. You can adjust the length or width according to the amount you have.
YARN, GAUGE AND MEASUREMENTS
Approximately 320-360 m / 350-394 yards of Light fingering weight yarn
22 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Line stitch with 3.25 mm / US 3 needle, after blocking
Shawl Length:136.5 cm / 53 ¾”, Width: 47.5 cm / 18 ¾”
OR approximately 300 m / 328 yards of Lace weight yarn

Choose the size that result in a fabric that suits you. The sizes used in the samples are listed on page 2.
SUGGESTED YARN
Manos Alegria, The Fibre Co. Meadow
Nebula by Andrea Mowry is her new oversized and comfy with a drop hem, shown here with yarn held single (above) and marled (below).
She has loved dressing hers up for date night, and then dressing it down for the weekend to snuggle into like her favorite worn-in sweatshirt. You can choose to stick with the short sleeves, or go for the longer sleeve version to suit your personal style! This pullover is knit from the bottom up, with a beautiful short-row curved hem and thoughtful shoulder details to accent the crew neck. The body is worked in the round until the divide for the yoke. The remainder is worked flat, and the shoulders are finished using the 3 needle bind off. The sleeves are then picked up from the body and knit in the round.
SIZES
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8)
FINISHED CHEST CIRCUMFERENCE
40 (46, 52, 58, 64)(70, 74, 78)”
101.5 (117, 132, 147.5, 162.5)(178, 188, 198) cm
You can really play around with positive ease in this sweater. I think anywhere from 24-10”/61-25.5 cm of positive ease works well.
Sample A (grey) shown in size 4 with +23”/58.5 cm ease at the chest; Sample B (marled) shown in size 3 with +18”/46 cm ease at the chest on a woman who is 5’5”/165 cm tall.
YARN REQUIREMENTS
These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.

HAPPEN is worked seamlessly from the top down. You start working the back until the length of the armhole. Then you work the front until the length of the armhole. Join back and front to work the body in the round down to the bottom ribbing. Pick up the sleeve stitches to work the sleeves in the round.

This or That begins with a choice between your preferred shape, Shawl or Wrap, followed by clues presented weekly over four weeks. Both the Shawl and Wrap will follow the same design/stitch patterns; only the shape will differ.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
Last week I showed this hanging up but today Jocelyne (jocblais) came wearing her Musurina by Caitlin Hunter knit using Shibui Twig.
Marlyce finished this modified Stevenson Sweater to match...
...her finished Scatness Tunic that she was inspired to knit after reading one of my newsletters. Both are by Kate Davies Designs from the Colours of Shetland book.
Marlyce knit them using Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight. There was enough left that she also knit a pair of socks.

You can make any tee pattern you want using Berroco yarns or yarn from our family of brands: Lopi, WoolAddicts, Amano, West Yorkshire Spinners, and Lang Yarns.
Nicole picked up her draw prize from our World Wide Knit in Public Day 2024 draw.
The draw prize was a yarn kit from Justin of Piper’s Knits that I bought at the SOC 2024 Ingersoll Crankin (Southern Ontario Crankin) back in May!
SHOP UPDATE
I don't always remember to post about new products but new to the shop is Reborn Jeans by Kremke Soul, a worsted weight yarn made from post-consumer recycled jeans.
