There are only a few weeks until Christmas or 34 days! What do you have on your needles? Do you have a sweater or are you gift knitting?
The Mokosh pullover by Teti Lutsak is unapologetically bright and patterned, loud as if asking to be heard — a very unusual combination coming from me. Yet you can make it as calm/muted as you wish, plus it is a wonderful project to make use of yarn leftovers.
The pullover is knit top-down in the round.
SIZES
The pattern is written for nine sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9) with a finished bust circumference of ca. 80 (94, 106, 120, 126) (134, 140, 154, 166) cm // 31.5 (37, 41.5, 47.25, 49.5) (52.75, 55, 60.75, 65.25) in incl. at least 10 cm (4 in) of the recommended positive ease.
The sample in red is shown in size 3 on a 160 cm (5.3 ft) tall model with 84 cm (33 in) bust measurement. For more of the finished garment measurements, please refer to the schematic.

YARN SUGGESTIONS: Quince & Co. Chickadee, Kelbourne Woolens Andorra, The Fibre Co. Amble. NOTE: I have the four colours that Teti used in Hey Mama Wolf Mokosh coming soon for Kits!
Bergliebe by Isabell Kraemer is s worked seamlessly from the top down.
Starting with the neck shaping, short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck. The yoke is then worked in the round to sleeve separation. Increases are worked into the textured part of the yoke, followed by raglan increases for the lower part of the yoke. Sleeve stitches are placed on hold to work the body top down. Sleeves are worked top down in rounds to the cuffs. No finishing required.
She wanted a design that didn’t need any fashionable frills, but it should be something honest.
Not simple, but intricate.
But above all, timeless.

Lady Whistledown Shawl by Mary Annarella is a companion piece to the Lady Whistledown Cowl for those wanting more coverage or just a larger project, the shawl version here changes up the color order of the dip stitch pattern for a fun effect.
Knit up in a light, woolenspun DK weight yarn, the shawl is both lofty and warm--and pretty easy to knit. Great for working on while you binge watch Bridgerton or anything else.
She wanted to both knit and wear a shawl that not only looks more complicated than it actually is but is also worked with a yarn of such lightness that defies its gauge. A shawl such as this might also be patterned in such a way so as to make best use of however much yarn is left in a lady’s stash so that one could merely keep knitting until running out of yarn.
MATERIALS:
4 skeins of Rowan Felted Tweed Colours (191 yds/50 g, shown in Jade) in the Main Color (MC) and
4 skeins of Rowan Felted Tweed (191 yds/50 g, shown in French Mustard) in the Contrasting Color (CC), or
approximately 740 yds of the MC and 725 yds of the CC in DK/light worsted weight yarn.
(Note that Rowan Felted Tweed Colours in Chartreuse can be substituted easily. The shades are nearly the same.)
A 32” size 6 (4 mm) circular needle or size needle required to achieve gauge,
A tapestry needle for weaving loose ends
I don't carry the Rowan Felted Tweed Colours but feel free to substitute Queensland Collection Rainbow Beach.
Here is another sample of the Lady Whistedown Shawl knit using Malabrigo Rios that is larger, heavier but cozy for using on the couch!
FOs and WIPs
I finished my Karen Slippers by Kristin Drysdale on Saturday. They haven’t been felted yet here.
I forgot to weigh my yarn before I started. When I weighed some new skeins of this yarn, there was more than 50g per skein so I don’t know what I used. I have 35g left of the red and 38g left of the natural so there is enough to knit another pair. I used BC Garn Semilla Melange in Natural and Cherry Red
I knit these using my Kollage (square) DPNs in 3.25mm and my 3.25 mm Addi 12” needles. Paulette used the Addi Flexiflips when she knit her two pairs.
I have slightly felted them in the washing machine’s gentle cycle but I think I can felt them a little bit more without losing the colourwork stitch definition. They are still a bit loose. I wear a size 8 shoe.
I cast on my Mokosh Pullover by Teti Lutsak. I am using 2 Rowan Kid Silk Haze Kits in the Smokey colour pack. I am using colours 605, , 676, 684 and 680. I will use the other 2 colours from my 2 kits for another project.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
My sister Mary (maryc1981) finished her Art Nouveau Sweater by Elenor Mortensen knit using Urth Yarns Harvest Fingering for her MC and Manos Del Uruguay Fino for her CC.
Similar to a few other Ravelers, she extended the chart for an all-over colourwork. She added 4 extra stitches, 2 on each side on the sleeve separation row to get the correct number to continue the colourwork and mirrored the yoke pattern.
Ellen(EllenDiane) knit herself this Shiftigan by Andrea Mowry using Tukuwool Fingering in 08 Runo and Queensland Collection Rainbow Beach in 108.
Here's Ellen (EllenDiane) wearing her stunning Shiftigan by Andrea Mowry.
Here’s Jen (zjewell) in her finished Growing by Lone Kjeldsen.
Jen knit hers nice and long! Yarn is MadTosh Tosh DK in Pebble and WYS Exquisite Lace in Portobello.
Jen (zjewell) finished her Lehigh by Melanie Berg for the Malabrigo Rios KAL 2024 using Rios.
Kay came to Knit Night wearing the fabulous Smookie by Kate Davies Designs that she knit during our Kate Davies KAL.
Even the back is fabulous!
Kay (83krobbins) came to today’s Knit Afternoon wearing her Primula cardigan by Cecilia García Rodrigo.
Kay doesn’t remember what yarn she used but I love how it highlights the texture!
Kay (83krobbins) finished this gorgeous pair of Scandiland Socks from Summer Lee’s book The Sock Project.
Kay (83krobbins) finished these two s32-4 Run Run Rudolph Hats by DROPS Design for her grandsons.
Cecilia (colourcanuck) knit this Spaced Out Blanket by Amy Bahrt using Berroco Vintage DK.
.
This week, I have Debbie (@love.knit.spin.weave) wearing her Snowflower KAL by Martin Storey instead of her mannequin! Yarn is Rowan Felted Tweed.
Margarete came to shop and her husband was so proud to show off this pullover that she knit him so many years ago but is still in perfect shape!
Happy Wednesday, Happy Knitting, Crocheting and Crafting!
