City Limits is my perfect sweatshirt style pullover. Written for a versatile worsted weight gauge, what I love about this pattern is that you can really make it your own. My sample was knit holding two strands of fingering weight throughout in 5 different colours to create a marled fade - Rowan’s sample features a single show stopping speckled colourway of worsted weight yarn. My sample is shown with the purl side side out while Rowan is sporting his with the stockinette side out. I finished all of Rowan’s hems with ribbing while mine received an icord treatment. So much room to customize! My sample features about 5” of positive ease with no waist shaping but instructions for optional waist shaping are provided. A versatile blank canvas sweater pattern - my very favourite kind!
These kits include a Koigu Shade Pack of 9 KPPPM - 50g skeins total 1575 yds.
There is enough yarn for all of the sizes using a single strand to be held with a strand of mohair to get gauge. Please add Drops Kid Silk to your order in the amount you need. I used five balls of Kid Silk or 1090 yards. I knit the size 40 with a size 43.5 hem.
Needles and pattern are not included.
For mine, I got gauge holding one strand of Koigu with one strand of Garnstudio Drops Kid Silk. I have not included the Kid Silk in the kit so that you can choose or ask me to select the colour you can use. On page 4 of the pattern, Tanis has included a chart showing the number of rows to knit of each colour. She has used five colours split into 9 colours/stripes which works perfectly with the nine skeins. If you don't want to use a strand of mohair, you can use another strand of fingering weight yarn to get a marled look.
