That was some storm that we had this afternoon - the power went out for about 5 hours even though the rain stopped and the sun came back out! Great time to sit by the window and knit...or enjoy some sun out on your deck after the storm like Natalie and her Folia Triangle by Amy van de Laar.
Transient Shawl by Michelle Hunter of Knit Purl Hunter was her April 2018 KAL, a beautiful design knit with Concentric by HiKoo. The yarn after the concentric circles that this cake of worsted weight yarn so closely resembles, these color gradients were carefully designed by the Skacel color specialists! Concentric is made from four non-plied strands of 100% Baby Alpaca, which create the distinctive color change.
In Transient, each color change will bring a different stitch pattern in this easy to wear shawl. You will find yourself racing to the next color change to find out what comes next! All it takes is one cake of yarn and 5.0 mm (US 8) needles. Hurry though!! According to her KAL posts, the pattern is free and must be downloaded only until May 31, 2018 after which you will need to purchase it.
Harvest Sunset Oversized Sweater by Urth Yarns is an "elegant addition to anyone's wardrobe" with a boatneck, oversized shape and beautiful overall lace pattern knit using a worsted weight yarn and a gauge of 21 stitches = 4 inches. It is designed for a worsted weight merino but as a summer sweater, why not try it with Butterfly Super 10, Rowan Creative Linen! Or knit it with wool as designed with Kelbourner Woolens Scout.
WIP's and FO's
I have been working exclusively on my Local Yarn Shawl and I am almost finished!! I have 4 more rows of the border left to knit and then the picot edge! Yaah! It is spring-like and I really want to be able to wear it! I love the colours and yarn I chose to use - Manos del Uruguay's Alegria in Caracas and SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock in Grapefruit. It has been such a treat to see the progress of everyone who is knitting this shawl! The colour choices are awesome and I can't wait to be able to show off everyone's finished objects some time soon!
My On the Spice Market by Melanie Berg took a back seat to the Local Yarn Shawl but I hope to finish it this week...maybe! The SweetGeorgia Party of Five in Jelly Bean is festive and summery!
Sneak peak at my next project,,,still trying to decide on what yarn!!
