It looks like we are in for a scorching, hot weekend! Are you staying indoors to knit or will you knit under the gazebo? Unless it is really humid, the gazebo is usually fine so I am definitely going to try to knit outside!
Carola called earlier this week to order yarn for Frog and Toad by Kristina Ingrid McGowan. She then told me about the book series by Arnold Lobel! I can't remember if I read them to my kids or not...I read them so many books!
My grandson's third birthday is this month so I have ordered a set of books. I am planning to cast Frog and Toad on my needles for my grandson’s birthday gift this weekend! This is Phaito’s Frog and Toad that she knit using leftover stash! Are they not adorable?
The designer found her family's old tattered copy one year while visiting her parents at Christmas, and began experimenting to create her frog. The pattern includes "instructions for the Frog, Toad, Bathing Suit, Jacket and Pants and skill-wise, things are probably more on the advanced side overall. But wherever I could, I suggest easier alternatives to some of the more advanced techniques. It is not imperative, for example, to graft or use provisional cast-ons and one can simply sew things together instead (the only difference will be a few extra seams). For the eyes, I used Elizabeth Zimmerman’s brilliant afterthought pocket technique, which requires cutting your knitting (not as scary as it might sound) and I provide how-to images at every point along the way."

Last week, I talked about The Fibre Co “One Sock” Knit-A-Long. Unfortunately at the time, I didn't have the details about the Kits that are available and since the KAL started on June 1st, I am only taking orders for them until the end of today so that I can order them quickly!

WIPs and FOs
After my Sock Monkey version of Baby Bear by Cocoknits was dry, I hand sewed the snap tape on instead of using my sewing machine (I don’t trust my machine to use on my knits). I then put the 3 mm short circulars onto the right leg, removing the waste yarn.
I overlapped the marked stitches and worked the same ribbing, knitting the overlapped stitches as one stitch each.
The finished onesie is adorable and I should have enough yarn left to knit a matching hat! The 6 moontth size took less than 2.5 skeins of the main colour, 10g of white and a few yards of red. I used Navia Faroese Sock yarn.
After finishing the back piece of my Rhys by Alison Green, I cast on both fronts to knit them 2 at a time!
I took this photo yesterday afternoon...this morning I was ready to sew the shoulder seams together!
