Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Issue 392: Happy Wednesday! What is on your needles?

May is almost here, and while spring has been fluctuating between very warm or cold along with of rain and wind, the flowers are starting to bloom and the trees are budding and flowering!

A great big THANK YOU to everyone who supported us both in-store and online on Saturday for LYS Day! I didn’t get a chance to post or take many photos!

A big, heart felt thank you to Jen and Paulette for their tireless help throughout the day and Linda for her help while she was there.

 Geddy Tee by Tanis Lavallee

There is something about a saddle shoulder construction that Tanis Lavallee finds so effortlessly cool. It’s the graphic lines that work their way from the neckline down the sleeves. So modern. For this casual, everyday top, she decided to take those saddles that she loves so much and work them in granny squares in her Geddy Tee! Never one to shy away from a pop of colour, this unexpected placement has thoroughly won me over.

Progress on my Aal Ower Toorie by Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers for Shetland Wool Week 2025.

Last Wednesday, I cast on my Aal Ower Toorie by Shetland Guild of Spinners, Knitters, Weavers and Dyers for Shetland Wool Week 2025.

This time, I didn't use one of the Kits that I have available. I am, however, using many of the colours that are in the Kit 2 - Kaleyard along with leftover Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight colours from Shetland Wool Week kits I have knit is the past.

I am a loose knitter so I used the same needles that I usually use for my Shetland Wool Week hats. I used 2.5 mm needles for the ribbing and am using 2.75 mm needles. I am magic looping with 24 inch circular needles.
