Well I am back from my vacation and while I didn't go far, I did get to see most of my family! Can you believe that summer is half finished already? September is coming up fast! Have you started thinking about fall projects or are you ready to cast on your gift knitting?
Summer may be half over but there is always the need for another summer tee!
The Grape Tee by Anne Ventzel is worked in stockinette stitch with an elegant slipped stitch pattern. The slipped stitch pattern is straight-forward. In this project, what looks like a stranded pattern is knitted with one color at a time, lowering the difficulty level.
The tee has a simple silhouette with the shoulder line pushed forward. It is worked seamlessly from the top down. First, the neck rib edge is worked in the round, then short rows are worked to shape the neckline, and then the work is continued in the round until the total shoulder width is achieved. After this, the work is divided into front section and back section, and each section is worked back and forth separately to the bottom of the armholes. The sections are then joined again to form the body which is worked in the round. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and knitted along the armholes, and short rows are worked to shape the top of the sleeve. The sleeves are then worked in the round on a circular needle.

Soft Current Tee by Wool & Pine carries forward the soft flow and gorgeous texture of their Soft Current Shawl, this time as an easygoing, lightweight tee. With simple lace-and-cable panels, clean shaping, and thoughtful seamless construction, it’s a meditative knit, full of thoughtful shaping details you’ll notice from cast-on to bind-off.
Knit in fingering-weight yarn, this tee is light on the skin and layers easily through changing seasons. It’s designed with a relaxed fit and a flattering neckline, making it the kind of top you’ll reach for again and again.
This top-down tee features short-row shaping at both front and back neckline for a better fit, and a seamless shoulder join that flows cleanly into the lace panel. The fit is relaxed but intentional, comfortable without feeling oversized.
They scaled the lace motif on the back to maintain visual balance across sizes, so it looks cohesive and well-proportioned no matter which size you make.

I didn't do a lot of knitting during my vacation! By the 25th of July, I had finished the hem ribbing, the button band and the rolled neck band on my Double Time Cardigan by Libby Jonson (Truly Myrtle).
By last Friday, I only had half of the first sleeve finished.
I finished sleeve one on Sunday and now have about one third of the second sleeve knit. Changing colour every 2 rounds and decreasing either every 8th or 6th round meant that I had to keep track especially since both of my colours had sections that look the same!
Instead of using a DK weight yarn, I am using Koigu Collector KPPPM in the Oh Canada and Canada Eh colourways.
I don't share many family photos but here is one of the shots we got while trying to get all of the kids looking! My sister’s grandkids were all there but two of mine couldn't be! The bigger the family gets, the harder it is to plan get togethers.
