Is it hot enough for you? I'm afraid I have been staying inside with the coolness of air conditioning and knitting! If you are like me, I knit all year round. Stay cool, hydrated and enjoy!
Wrap yourself in color and texture with the Night Lights by Andrea Mowry. This striking shawl pattern is based on the Night & Day Cowl. Designed with dynamic colors and a playful stitch motif, this project is as fun to knit as it is to wear. Perfect for adventurous beginners and seasoned knitters alike, this shawl is a bold statement piece full of texture! This shawl is knit sideways, increasing up to the widest part of the triangle and then decreasing back down.
As Andrea says, I tend to think of my summertime projects as getting me all stocked up with knits for the cozy seasons ahead! I also find it very necessary to have a shawl or light cardigan with me at all times, because even during the current heat wave we are experiencing here in the Mitten state, the second you walk into any shop or theater, you get blasted with frigid AC.

The Ranunculus by Midori Hirose has been knit by over 29.2k people that have actually created a project on Ravelry! I must admit that when it first came out, I wasn't sure I liked it. However, once everyone's finished projects started popping up, I was hooked. To date, I have knit 3 adult size and one baby sized ones.
Carol (knittoatea) knit one using Rowan Cotton Cashmere and her second one above was knit using Berroco Zinnia.
Ranunculus is a top-down round yoke pullover with lace and textured stitches. The yoke pattern is designed to look like wearing layers of necklace. There are short rows between neck ribbing and yoke pattern not only on back but also on front, so that neckline has a bit of a boat neck shape and yoke pattern has a necklace look. The round yoke has ample depth and the finished pullover has a cropped length so that you can layer it over dresses or high-waisted skirts and pants. If crops aren’t your style, adjust body to your favorite length.
You can choose from smaller or wider neckline,
and short sleeves or long puff sleeves with/without diagonal cuff line.
You can use lace, light fingering to worsted weight yarn. The degree of transparency depends on the weight of yarn. Knitting with thin yarn on big needle gives light, transparent and airy texture to this pullover. Using thicker yarn or holding two yarns together adds more weight, and more structured look.
When the pattern first came out, there was only one size. Ranunculus now includes 11 sizes, size 3 is same as before, sizes 1 & 2 are smaller size, sizes 4–11 are larger size.
Yanhong (CaptainMocha) finished her fifth Ranunculus using Noro Kompeito.

FOs and WIPs
I started the first sleeve of my Astro Pop by Marie Greene sample knit for the Olive Knits 4 Day KAL on Saturday...
I decided to make my short sleeves longer than the pattern's 2 rows before the ribbing. I knit 10 rounds on mine.
By Sunday morning, I had both sleeves finished and my ends all woven in.
Yesterday, I took a few photos of my finished and blocked Astro Pop!
The pattern includes a pretty lace detail on the sides.
I have the 42cm of the lace pattern complete and the bottom ribbing started on my Lacey Loop Tee by Other Loops_.
