Rickroll Wrap Ravelry Pattern

Like the infamous Rickroll, the construction of this 3-color, easy buttoned wrap is a fun surprise: It’s a pretty-quick knit where you work 2 triangle shawls--and seamlessly get an FO that is not shaped like one.

Worked in fingering weight yarn, this versatile wrap can be buttoned and worn in a variety of ways (don’t worry--I’ve created a video to show you exactly how). Button the 2 angled edges together to wear as a cowl. Drape it over your shoulders and secure with just a single button. Or (my favorite:) button the angled edge to a straight edge and wear as a draped poncho. Think “Lu Lu Lemon Wrap.”

A photo tutorial in the pattern shows you how to place 12 buttons, but you may use as many, or as few, as you like, and I’ve created a video showing you several ways to wear the wrap as well as button placement.

Materials:
Size S(M) require:
approx 280(290) yds C1, 350(600) yds C2, and 280(290) yds C3 in fingering weight yarn*

The Fade Version:
Sizes S(M) require:
approx 280(290) yds C1, 290(390) yds C2, 290(390) yds C3 and 280(290) yds C4 in fingering weight yarn

// Please note that size medium in this color-fade version is a bit smaller than size medium in the 3-color version. This is done to conserve yarn and ensure that you don’t run out of C2 or C3 for size medium. Note also that even a slight variation of gauge on this project will result in using different amounts of yarn. Please take care to work exactly to the stated gauge to ensure that you don’t run out of C2 or C3 yarn for size medium and need to purchase an additional skein for size medium.

NOTE - The pdf Ravelry pattern will be emailed separately from Ravelry to you. If you include in the notes your Ravelry name, it will be added to your library.
