Nadine is rocking her Briochealicious Shawl that she knit! Doesn't it look fabulous? It is one of many, many shawls on my bucket list to knit...I even bought the pattern. Who is in to knit it with me?
Briochealicious by Andrea Mowry is a crescent shaped shawl pattern that is a great beginner project for brioche newbies! Two color brioche stripes are separated by squishy, relaxing garter stitch! The shawls generous length is perfect for a multitude of styling options.
The pattern calls for 4 colours of fingering weight yarn, skeins of the main colour and one skein each of three other colours. The gauge measured over garter stitch is 22 sts and 56 rows = 4 in/10 cm using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles or as required to get gauge.

Berroco's Cardi House Party KAL finished on May 31st which I signed the shop up for and myself to knit. I was beyond surprised to find out that I was the grand prize winner! I knit my Antonia by Julie Weisenberger (Cocoknits) using Berroco Elba and Line Buttons by Katrinkles.
Help! Can someone tell me how a PM works? I think they PM'd me and now it has disappeared lol??

HUG SHOT SHAWL KITS
Everyone who purchased one of the Hug Shot Pre-Order Kits from Ancient Arts Yarn, the kits have arrived so you can come in any time to pick them up! Don't forget to redeem your Ravelry Codes for the pattern as soon as you can so that you don't forget. Originally you had from today until Sunday to redeem your codes. Casapinka has extended it until June 14th because of the horrendous events of the past week. I will not be ordering any more Hug Shot Kits from Ancient Arts but I do have 2 Skein Shawl Kits and 2 Skein Shawl Kits 2 available so if you still want one with a code to redeem for the pattern, you still have a little bit of time!
WIP's and FO's
I am still working on my Fruit Stripe Gum Socks which are up to the ribbing before the heel flap but not at a stage I wanted to take another photo of so you will have to wait! My Breathe and Hope is also stallled at the same place as last week...I really wanted to finish a project so I worked exclusively on my other shawl.
My Venezia Shawl by Joji Locatelli is finished but not yet blocked! Knit using Malabrigo Mechita in Moon Trio Full and Drops Kid Silk in Off White. What I am wearing underneath my Venezia Shawl is my Sea Nymph Cardigan that I knit a few years ago using El D Mouzakis Butterfly Super 10 Cotton.
Unblocked, the widest point is 11-3/4” by 62” long so it is still long enough to style!
The gorgeous reversible diamond lace motif, and the main body of the shawl is worked in ribbing which I love the look of especially with the halo of mohair!
During one of the Zoom meetings, Connie had said that she cast on and tried several times to get the pattern to work but couldn't figure out why it wasn't. The thing to know about this pattern is that work the next row of Diamond means just that! On row 2, you use row 2 of chart, next row would be row 3 so where it says Rows 2 to 6 use rows 2 to 6 of the chart. Keep track of your row of the chart because in section 1, rows 20-24 are chart rows 2-6; row 25 is chart row 7 and so on.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
The current Knit-Alongs are the Any Sweater / Shawl KAL and the Knit Your Project: the everlasting knit-along to encourage and support you to knit is running from April 1 to June 30, 2020. Don't forget to post your finished projects so that you will be included in our quarterly draw! We will also add the option of posting your finished project to Instagram using the #sue2knitskal so that I can find them!
Instead of knitting another sweater, here are three pairs of socks Nancy knit during Covid! They are now on their way to Calgary!

Andrea Mowry had the Minted Weekend KAL from May 28 to June 1! Here is Nadine’s Minted! She used Kelbourne Woolens Andorra and Drops Kid Silk.
Debbie (debsnubs)’s Minted is knit using a Quince and Co yarn held double with Drops Kid Silk.
Natalie bought this kit to knit Casapinka’s Breathe and Hope Shawl but she frogged it to knit Right Around the Corner by Lisa Hannes!
Anna (Pannouschka) knit this beautiful Minaret by Christina Danaee! Anna's finished projects amaze me...she has five kids under eight!
Lise looks great in the Joon Top that she test knit using Bergere de France Bigarelle!
RE-STOCK AND NEW
Berroco Estiva is a tape yarn made of 100% Cotton that is super soft and has 336 yards of gorgeous gradient colours that fade from dark to light! Two new colours arrived, the third unfortunately did not! Colour 2612 Curry has been sold out which is too bad.
The colour (Curry) looked amazing knit up as the that was knit using two cakes of Berroco Estiva on 6.0 mm (US 10) needles. Since the colour is no longer available, picture the shawl knit in any of the other gorgeous colours!
Charlotte Amelie by Donna Yacino is knit using 2-4 cakes of Berroco Estiva depending on your size. This is a flattering V-neck tank that will be a staple in any summer wardrobe.
Nera by Amy Christoffers is knit using 3-4 cakes of Berroco Estiva. This slightly cropped, open-front cardigan is a perfect layering piece for spring and summer. Knit from the sleeves into the body, this cardigan knitting pattern features a deep rib. Make sure to read the notes to ensure the gradient of the yarn works as shown.
If you are a weaver or thinking of considering taking up weaving, I got in a big shipment of Gist Yarn’s Duet Cotton/Linen and Mallo Cotton Slub weaving yarn. I am an Ashford Dealer so I also carry Ashford Mercerized Cotton and Unmercerized Cotton as well as Ashford Caterpillar Cotton and can bring in any of their looms or spinning wheels that I don't have in stock! Weaving yarns are not limited to coned yarns though, Noro with their gorgeous self-striping colours, natural wools, SweetGeorgia yarns (check out her Taking Back Friday podcasts about weaving), Bergere de France Bigarelle to name some!
