Double Win Mosaic Shawl by Jessica Ays

Double the Stitches is offering the Double Win Mosaic Shawl pattern for FREE when you purchase the yarn to make it from our store during that weekend!

Designed by Jessica Ays of Double the Stitches, the Double Win Shawl is a beautiful mosaic knit that celebrates the bond between knitters and their local yarn shops. This rectangular shawl features two contrasting colors, creating bold patterns through simple slipped stitches. The result is an intricate-looking, cozy piece that's both enjoyable and satisfying to knit.

To enhance your knitting experience, Jessica is also hosting a FREE Knit-A-Long (KAL) with live Zoom events, including a Kick-Off Party and two Knit Nights. When you purchase the yarn for the Double Win Shawl from our store, you'll gain free access to these engaging sessions.

During the Kick-Off Party, Jessica will guide you through the special stitches used in the design, ensuring you have the support needed to create your shawl.

Sign up link for Kick-Off Party, Knit Nights and the FREE Double Win Mosaic Shawl Knit-A-Long!

The Double Win Mosaic Shawl uses 3 skeins of Light Fingering Weight Yarn in 2 contrasting colors (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon); 462 yards/422 meters per 100 grams);

• approximately 450 yds/412 m in Color A (light), and

• approximately 820 yds/750 m in Color B (dark)

Combine solid, speckle, gentle tonal, or long gradient yarns that coordinate but aren’t too perfectly matched so the mosaic stitches will shine. Sharply variegated colorways are not recommended for this design.

A note about yarn: If you are using a heavier fingering weight yarn with fewer yards per 100 grams (i.e., 400 yards per 100 grams), I will share options for adjusting the original pattern.

Suggested Yarn
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light
, Malabrigo Sock, SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock

Gentle Spirit Tee by Hanna Maciejewska

Gentle Spirit Tee by Hanna Maciejewska is the free pattern from The Fibre Co. with the purchase of yarn from The Fibre Co (any yarn in any quantity).

The Gentle Spirit Tee captures the essence of lightness and elegance, perfect for breezy days. This seamless, top-down tee features a wide boat neck and delicate lace details across the top. Loosely fitted, yet refined, it offers just the right amount of ease without being too oversized. The front and back are worked separately from the top down to the underarm before being joined to knit the body in the round. With short row shaping for the neck and shoulders and finished with I-cord edging, this tee is as thoughtfully constructed as it is beautiful.

This was my progress last Friday on my Art Nouveau Sweater by Elenor Mortensen.

Progress on my Art Nouveau Sweater.

By Sunday, I was finished both sleeves! I knit the hem and cuffs using 2.5 mm needles while the body after my restart was knit using 2.75 mm needles.

My Art Nouveau Sweater by Elenor Mortensen is finished and blocked.

On Monday, I blocked my finished Art Nouveau. The blocking smoothed out the yoke area where there was still a section that was knit using the 3.0 mm needles that hadn't been frogged when I was guessing how far back to go.

I used the ladderback jaccquard technique to manage all of the long floats. I love how it turned out and am so glad that I decided to flip the chart to add to the body after frogging the original plain stockinette body.
