Quick and bulky or intricate and fine, there are hundreds of patterns available for us to make...Christina has started her Christmas knitting early but this beauty is just for her!
The pattern is Angela Tong's Monsoon Shawl which Christina decided to knit using Malabrigo Rios. She says she "finished my giant shawl! I made about 100 mistakes but I’m so happy with the results." She also decided not to block it because it is 7 feet long before blocking so only washed it and then dried it in the dryer.
The pattern calls for 588 yards (538 m) of worsted weight yarn and using 6.5 mm (US 10.5) needles for a gauge of 11 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in stocking stitch; 12 sts and 16 rows = 4" in lace pattern. The finished shawl should be 61" long and 26" deep at center point, after blocking.
The Holey Scarf from Schoppel-Wolle’s Design Team knit using their Laceball. It has long repeats of variegated color to create an eye-catching backdrop against the negative space of the strategically knitted holes. Whether worn as a scarf or a shawl, this stunning piece will secure your spot as a trendsetter. Knit it with one skein of Laceball with 875 yards (800 m) using 4.5 mm (US 7) needles or size needed for a gauge of 19 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in pattern. The finished scarf is approximately 22" Wide by 90" Long.
