3 Shawls and Griffin's baby cardie!
The days are really flying by - it is Friday already!! This weekend, two of my kids and their families are coming to visit so I will have a houseful with my three grandbabies!!
My oldest grandson is sporting his Baby Sophisticate by Linden Down. The original free patternis on the small size so I used 5.0 mm needles for a looser gauge but here he is 16 months old and in the cover shot, he is 18 months old! Griffin is on the small side especially compared to his baby brother Lennox!
Campside by Alicia Plummer is a wonderful collaboration between Alicia Plummer and Julie Asselin Hand Dyed Yarns for the Pom Pom Quarterly blog featuring "a cosy hug of a shawl with a cascade of delicate eyelets". The revisited pattern now includes charts and errata.
Azzu's Shawl by Emma Fassio is a top-down shawl, worked from the top center back outward. It is lovely both worn as a scarf and as a shawl on the shoulders. Emma was inspired to design this shawl by her friend while they were knitting a shawl kal, who was making mods to to have a long and slim shawl that she could twist around her neck and still make a knot in the front. She wanted a shawl that would be perfect with a coat during the winter and stylish and trendy in spring time on a jeans jacket.
Makariri Shawl by Francoise Danoy is a gorgeous oversized shawl, with subtle texture and squish, and eye-catching lace and colorwork. Use your creativity and imagination to pair your three favorite colorways together to paint a scene. In her sample, she used white and two grey neutrals to reflect the cold yet magical feeling of winter. Perhaps you will choose more vibrant and warm colors to celebrate summer or spring?
WIPS
The Adult Surprise Jacket that I am currently working on is progressed to the increases! I am liking the way I decided to knit my stripes starting on the wrong side (even rows) to get a more subtle woven effect. This is my third ASJ!

My Gemstone by Veera Välimäki is now an FO (finished object)! I love it - the long narrow sleeves, the slightly shorter front and longer back and of course all of the cable details!
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
The Wednesday Knit group knit outside for a little while - I tend to sit and knit outside in my garage when I can...at least when I get the nice cross breeze and it it isn't too humid! I can't believe how quickly the ASJ projects are moving along! Four of us at the Wednesday group are making the ASJ and one is making a BSJ.
Both the Wednesday and Thursday groups have been having fun knitting together! Wednesday, we were having such a time that we all completely forgot to have Lise pick out the skein of Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 that she won in the Spring/Summer Garment Knit-Along draw!

Happy Friday and Happy Knitting!
Oh I love those shawl patterns, especially the Makariri! Of course, the Baby Sophisticate is one of my all time favourite baby cardis!
