I am looking forward to a weekend with no rain - I hope, some knitting and the weekend visit with two of my grandsons!
Herbst Rosina Jacke - Autumn Rosina Cardigan by FadenStille is a beautiful pattern for expert knitters that is worked top down and you need to be able to work from charts. The shawl collar is knitted first, and stitches for shoulders and body are picked up from the long, non-cable side of the collar. The Rosina Jacket has raglan shaping and Rosina pattern on the back that are worked at the same time. It is knit using DK weight yarn using 4.0 mm (US 6) and 4.5 mm (US 7) needles for a gauge of 22 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches.
Liz finished her stunning Autumn Rosina Cardigan and she is very happy that she persevered! Liz commented that reading the pattern was often confusing but found that if she trusted the pattern, everything worked out even the modifications she made. She was worried her sleeves would be shorter that she wanted and the slight puckering on the back but blocking worked wonders and her Rosina fits her beautifully!
Cancun Boxy Lace Top by Erin Kate Archer is a lace-sampler top is knit in two simple rectangles from the bottom up and seamed at the shoulders and sides to create the boxy shape. Knit it using a DK weight yarn using 5.0 mm (US 8) needles for a gauge of 4.5 stitches = 1 inch. Check out check out forevermohr ‘s modified version of Erin's pattern that is knitted in one piece and provides information on how to adjust for gauge and size.
This version with sleeves is pooki’s Lacy Boxy - her modified Cancun Boxy Lace Top. She used the lace patterns from this pattern with the shapes from Joji Locatelli's Boxy.
WIP's and FO's
I finished my Hipster Shawl by Joji Locatelli earlier this week! I love how it turned out - I used Manos Milo, the Indian Cross pattern and the fringe!
I have cast on two new projects...Sunshine Coast by Heidi Kirrmaier and Ibis - Top 08 Chic 89 by Fil Katia.
This is my Ibis Top - I haven't progressed too far...there are a lot of stitches! I am using Debbie Bliss Cotton Denim DK especially I started it, then frogged it to knit size B instead of C.
Still a few inches to go on the yoke section of my Sunshine Coast before I separate the sleeves from the body. I am knitting it with Berroco Remix Light in Birch. Heidi also has a sleeveless version called Big Wave that is similar but I wanted a summer top with short sleeves.

WORLD WIDE KNIT IN PUBLIC DAY 2018
World Wide Knit in Public Day was a great success! The weather did not cooperate with rain in the morning, a grey afternoon and then rain again but we set up in the garage and kept dry! Everyone brought some goodies including a cake that Nicole brought but forgot to dig in to until a few had left! Oops!
