I knit 2 Icelandic sweater this winter and I still have several pullovers on my list to knit but I think it is time to think Spring!
For those of you who are ready to start knitting for the warm weather, here is Little Flower from Knitting for Breakfast, designed to celebrate Women's Day. It is an elegant scarf worked in a delicate lace stitch with garter stitch sections that is super soft and light, but warm and cozy but perfect for spring time. It is knit with fingering weight yarn using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles to get a gauge of 26 stitches and 48 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch. You will need 722 - 739 yards. This would work up like a dream in The Fibre Company Meadow or Manos del Uruguay Fino.
191-8 Le Conquet is a new pattern from Drops Design that looks very pretty, feminine and yet easy to wear. It is knit top-down with raglan sleeves and moss stitch using a strand of Drops Alpaca and 2 strands of Drops Kid Silk using 6.0 mm (US 10) needles for the ribbing and 7.0 mm (US 10.75) needles for the body for a gauge of 13 stitches and 15 rows = 4 inches in moss stitch.
Autumn Leaves and Maile Sweater by Nikki Van De Car are two sweet and adorable baby patterns to knit as baby gifts.
Lauriida’s Autumn Leaves: Autumn Leaves includes 3 sizes, 3-6 months up to 12-15 months. It is knit using DK weight yarn using 3.75 mm (US 5) needles for a gauge of 24.5 stitches and 32.5 rows = 4 inches in stockinette. This would knit up beautifully using Malabrigo Arroyo or SweetGeorgia Superwash DK.
spinnyknitter’s Maile Sweater: Maile is written for a 3 month size. It is knit using fingering weight yarn using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles for a gauge of 6 stitches and 9 rows = 1 inch in stockinette. You need 200 - 300 yards of yarn. Wouldn't it knit up beautifully in Malabrigo Sock or SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock?
WIP's and FO's
My Vintersol is off my needles - 2 days before the Lopi Knit-Along finish date of March 15th! If I hadfn't changed my mind about the fit I wanted, it would have been finished at least a week ago and really I should know my size preference by now! I used Lettlopi in 1700 Air Blue, 0005 Black Heather and 51 White.
I’ve caked my yarn for Melanie Berg’s On the Spice Market and I have finished section 1. I am using SweetGeorgia's Party of Five in Jelly Bean, my leftover SweetGeorgia CashLuxe Fine stash yarn from my Hitofude in Sapphire and Malabrigo Sock in Natural. I had planned on using Tough Love Sock in Birch but I sold my last skein to Debbie who is also planning to knit On the Spice Market as well as Melanie Berg's True Colors.
I finished my second Girl Lamb by Julie Williams - Betsy and Caroline make great mascots for the shop! I didn't make a new dress for Betsy so she is wearing the dress I made for Valentine's Day. Betsy, however, still needs to be added to my Projects on Ravelry. I knit both using Drops Kid Silk held double with Bergere de France Ideal to give them that halo.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY
The current Knit-Along is an Any Project Knit-Along! The deadline for this one is March 31, 2018 so there is still time to get your project completed and entered in the next draw! You don't have to come to a Knit Afternoon or Knit Night to be included in the draw but you do need to post your finished projects to the Group Finished Objects thread on Ravelry.
Bev's finished socks!
Carol finished another pair of socks. These she knit using SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock.
Nikki also chose Tough Love Sock for her Starting Point by Joji Locatelli which she recently finished!
Natalie’s Comfort Fade Cardi is almost done! Just ends to sew in!
Happy Friday, Happy Knitting, Crocheting and Crafting!
