Anenome by The Noble Thread

Anemone by The Noble Thread is a colourful semi-circular shawl inspired by the beautiful sea, anemones it is named after. Easy bobbles, slipped stitches, and eyelet and mesh stitches are used in each simple section. The changing stitches and colors will keep you entertained and wanting to get to the next section.
The shawl is finished with a wavy chevron and an i-cord bind off. This would be a great stashbusting project to use use up your partial skeins of fingering weight yarn since you need one full skein of 400 yards, 2 half skeins of 200 yards and 3 colours of 100 yards. A 3.75 mm (US 5) needle is needed for a gauge of 23 stitches = 4 inches in garter stitch.

Paragould by Samantha Stadter

Paragould by Samantha Stadter is a "knee-length open front multicolor cardigan/poncho/cover-up thing" that is knit flat and is almost seamless. It is worked from the lower edge of the back, worked up towards the shoulders where it is split in two, then the front pieces are worked separately down towards the bottom edge. This piece is folded at the shoulders, stitches are picked up along the outer edges, then the middle stitches (around the armhole) are bound off and a 3-needle bind off is used to join the front and back pieces. You will need about 840 yards for your main color and at least 400 yards for each contrast color and 4.5 mm (US 7) needles for a gauge of 19 stitches and 23 rows = 4 inches in the feather and fan pattern stitch. This one really looks like something I would wear!

This week I was more productive - I spent much less time on the computer and even sat outside in front of my garage to knit! So nice to get some sunshine and fresh air!

Swatching for Heidi Kirrmaier’s Morning Sky...Using Manos Milo in Petal. I am a loose knitter so I started with a 2.25 mm instead of the suggested 3.00 mm - I usually go down 1 needle size but did not like the fabric and the gauge was too tight. The pattern calls for a sport weight with a gauge of 23.5 stitches = 4 inches. I got 26 stitches initially and even if I wet blocked it, I didn't think it would bloom enough. I switched to a 2.75 mm and like the fabric much better. Now I need to knit a big enough swatch to wet block.
