I can't believe that it is the last week of August and that it is almost September. With summer winding down, are you anticipating the cooler fall weather and hopefully the end of all the rain, wind and flooding the past few days!
Are you anticipating the cooler fall weather? Are you still knitting for summer, sweater weather or have you started your gift knitting?
Galanta by Carol Feller is her latest Stolen Stitches Autumn KAL which starts September 21st! It has been a few years (there really are a lot of KALs) but I did a few of her KALs!
Each new section of the pattern will be released as a clue on the following schedule:
Clue 1: 21st September, 2023–it all kicks off!

Same but Different by Cheryl Faust is a bandana style cowl, knit flat from the top down similar to a triangular shawl.
It is 20% off the regular pattern price through the end of the today Friday, August 25 using the code COWL to apply discount during checkout.
The distinctive patterning is simple to create, using the mosaic knitting technique. Carefully designed to integrate seamlessly from top to bottom, those captivating spine stitches are the prominent characteristic of Same but Different! But wait, there’s more … SBD also features a split seam at the back and a continuous I-cord bind off, for a beautiful and professional looking finish.
Same but Different includes fully written and charted instructions. Each section is thoughtfully explained to guide you from start to finish. I highly recommend following the video tutorial provided in the pattern for the I-cord tab cast-on.

Playful and fun, cozy and bright… this colorwork cowl is a total delight!
This stranded colorwork cowl plays with mini-skeins to create cheerful citrus slices that will brighten up even the coldest winter day. The rhythm of the stitches makes this a relaxing knit, while frequent color changes keep things interesting.
This cowl is knit in the round as a tube and grafted together at the end to create a complete circle. I have included a video tutorial (linked in the pattern) on grafting in the round.

WIPs and FOs
I finished my Sunshine Coast by Heidi Kirrmaier!
I knit my first Sunshine Coast with short sleeves using Berroco Remix Light. This one I knit with the pattern’s 3/4 sleeves and Juniper Moon Zooey. The A-line body and the side details formed through basic increases and decreases make it special.
I finished the sweetest Open Back Ballerina Onesie by SimpySycamore in the newborn size using Garnstudio Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk.
I decided to knit it with the button and buttonhole option instead of ties. The onesie only took 18g or approx. 110 yards of the ball of Brushed Alpaca Silk
This morning I cast on the Ruffle Bonnet by Cassandra May to match the Onesie.
I knit until I had the decreases for the ruffle knit before setting it aside for later.
I changed my mind about using my leftover Malabrigo Arroyo as my contrast colour in my Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter.
There isn’t a lot of contrast between the two colours but I decided to use the leftover 33g of The Fibre Co. Amble in Buttermere from my Drawing Sweater.
KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

Beverley finished this pair of Petty Harbour by Rayna Curtis as a birthday gift! Yarn is her favourite ZYG Serenity 20 and Cascade Heritage Silk Peruvian Tones.
Mary-Ellen (MadCrocheter) finished this sparkly headband.
Mary-Ellen (MadCrocheter) also finished this hat.
Sandi (sandima) used her hand spun for this Carrot Farmer Hat test knit.
Sandi (sandima) finished her Sheep Carousel by Kate Davies Design for the #sue2knitskatedavieskal.

I finally received some of the Schoppel Wolle El Linio which I have had on backorder since last winter along with more Addi Flexiflips.
