It has been either too hot or wet outside! We really shouldn't complain though because it could be hotter, there could be no air conditioning or severe weather! I am truly thankful that most of us have the luxury of being able to stay inside and cool.
Meadow is The Fibre Co.'s July Yarn of the Month! Meadow is a heavy lace-weight yarn spun with The Fibre Co.’s trademark blend of luxury fibres with a rustic appearance, combining baby llama and fine Merino wool for softness, silk for its sheen and linen for the crisp hand and stitch definition of linen.
- 40% merino, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen
- 498 m / 545 yds/100 gram skein
- 32-36 sts = 4" (10 cm)
- 2.25 - 3.25 mm (US 1-3) needle
- Hand Wash, Dry Flat

If you are looking for a project full of elegant details that will enchant you, look no further. Knit seamlessly from the top down this minimalist top features a beautiful neckband of eyelets flowing into a triangular motif, shaped shoulder edging, an interesting armhole trim, garter stitch underarm detailing, and a mini split hem at the centre back. It is knitted in Meadow, which has the perfect drape and stitch definition for this gorgeous project.

Irish Sea by Susanna Winter is a super-wearable triangular shawl with beautiful drape and fluidity. The crisp stitch definition from Meadow emphasises the rhythmic garter stitch and delicate lace as it travels down the edge of the shawl. The size can be adjusted, according to your taste, by knitting more or less repeats.

Summer Meadow by Janina Kallio is a relaxing knit with a contemporary look. Big and floaty, this shawl is an absolute beauty with delicate details.
Summer Meadow combines garter stitch with a beautifully textured eyelet pattern. Small eyelets are sprinkled along the stockinette stitch and framed with petite garter ridges for textural interest.
The slightly asymmetric triangle shape is created by working diagonally from one tip to the opposite edge, resulting in a large but lightweight wrap with a beautiful drape.
Yarn
Two skeins of The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% merino, 25% llama, 20% silk, 15% linen; 498 m / 545 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Cornflower.
Or approximately 879 m / 961 yds of similar light fingering weight yarn.
Needles
4 mm (US 6) circular needle. Adjust needle size to obtain pattern gauge. Gauge affects the finished size and the amount of yarn needed.
This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using an 80-100 cm / 32-40 inch circular needle to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
Finished Size After blocking
221 cm / 87 in (wingspan) x 102 cm / 40 in (depth)

If you haven't knit a Ranunculus by Midori Hirose yet, you really should! you might not understand the hype but check out the over 19k Ranunculus projects that have been posted to Ravelry.
Ranunculus is a top-down round yoke pullover with lace and textured stitches. I have designed yoke pattern to look like wearing layers of necklace. I have knitted short rows between neck ribbing and yoke pattern not only on back bit also on front, so that neckline has a bit boat neck shape and yoke pattern has necklace look. The round yoke has ample depth and finished pullover has cropped length so that you can lay it over dresses or high-waisted skirts and pants. If crops aren’t your style, please adjust body to your favorite length.
You can choose from smaller or wider neckline,
and short sleeves or long puff sleeves with/without diagonal cuff line.
Knit yourself a Ranunculus out of The Fibre Co. Meadow held double with Garnstudio Drops Kid Silk! Find Ranunculus Kits HERE. Ask us to put together your kit with the colour of your choice and a coordinating Kid Silk. Sample shown by @loopyarn.
Thee Kid Silk and Meadow's merino/llama/silk/linen blend gives you a sweater that is ethereally light and soft.
