I love to knit all year round especially summer sweaters! Are you a summer knitter or maker of summer sweaters or do you prefer smaller projects like socks or a shawl?
Lobelia is a crescent-shaped shawl by Joanna Ignatius designed to be knit using 2 hanks of The Fibre Company Meadow. It features a floral-inspired lace border, lateral braid detail, picot bobbles and lots of slipped stitches.
It has been designed for 2 shades of Meadow yarn. Joanna’s designs are inspired by her homeland in Finland, nature, and the changing of seasons.
YARN
1 hank of Col A and 1 hank of Col B of The Fibre Co. Meadow (40% Merino wool, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen, 498 m (545 yd) per 100 g hank)

This pattern is stunning but not complicated to knit, making it ideal for those new to knitting lace and openwork.

In this version, delicate bands of lace alternate with bands of silky fabric that subtly change colors.

This sweater has a lot of positive ease built in. This means that the finished product will be much bigger than your bust measurement. However, not all the sizes have the same amount of ease built in, as larger sizes don’t need the sweater to be so oversized.
Choose a size according to your bust measurement in the list of sizes above: if your bust circumference is 40” 100 cm, choose size 4.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm (US 4) and 3.25 mm (US 3) circular needles.
GAUGE
23 st and 33 rows to 4” 10 cm in Stockinette st on US 4 3.5 mm needles in the main yarn (sport or fingering).

A sweater inspired by Paul Klee’s paintings. You will play with colors and develop their combinations with square motifs. You can mix and match many colors, or use just a few, for example 4 to 6 colors. For the sample sweater’s combo, she picked up the colors you can find in the painter’s palette.
The sweater is light thanks to a gauge much looser than that of traditional Fair Isle sweaters. If you are used to stranded knitting, this loose gauge may surprise you. If you have trouble achieving the pattern gauge, you can work with a thicker yarn or add a lace weight yarn. Using two yarns with different colors together will add depth to the shades and produce a lovely combination.

WIPs and FOs
This is where I was on Wednesday on my Pink is for Power by Melanie Berg. The pattern repeat is 28 rounds and last week I wasn't sure whether too stop at round 12 or 26. In the end, I worked all 28 rounds and then another 12!
Now my WIP is up to the twisted rib which I am super slow at!

A few of us started a new spinning group a few weeks ago. We decided to join in the #tourdefleece2022! These are my daily spins...My goal is to gain enough confidence and consistency and spin enough half bobbins to ply enough full bobbins. I'm aiming for enough for a sweater quantity.
