Yesterday was cooler out and today overcast and wet but summer is officially here! Summer makes using cottons, cotton blends and linens or fingering weight yarns more enjoyable to work with for our summer knits and to of course, to wear. Somehow though, I am working on two wool projects instead!
Alpine Bloom by Caitlin Hunter is a light summer tee knit from the top down featuring a sweet lace neckline and sleeves and a Scandinavian-inspired floral colourwork yoke. Short rows are worked at the back neck for an improved fit. The sleeves are knitted separately and grafted on. Instructions are given for lengthening the body as desired and for simple ribbed sleeve cuffs if you’d prefer not to graft the sleeves on.
Use the code ALPINE for 20% off until June 28, 2023!

Duntara by Jennifer Beale is an excuse to make an exception to knit stranded colourwork in 100% linen just for summer. To wear on those hot days when you really want to wear some awesome colourwork without the sweat factor. You might sweat a tiny bit knitting colourwork in linen yarn, but Duntara makes it worth it in the end! It’s a simple top-down top, with shoulder shaping and slightly different front & back neck shaping to help tell the difference when getting dressed. The beautiful colorwork patterning is perfectly complemented by an engaging yet simple lace that has a smattering of cables.
Sizes:
Intended to be worn with 15cm to 25cm / 6” to 10” positive ease at chest. Sample shown is the size 2 on a 87cm / 34.25” chest, corresponding to 18cm / 7” ease at chest.

I made pretty good progress on Wednesday on this beautifully designed twisted stitch cardigan. The fronts and the back at the shoulders have been joined and the neckband is knit.
I even managed to get the left front band partially knit.
By this morning both of the front bands including the i-cord buttonholes are finished. The sleeves are next but I will be tapering them instead of the pattern's puffed sleeves.
I didn’t need another project but the Aallokko sweater by Tiina Huhtaniemi test knit is on my needles for Tukuwool.
I love how my Aallokko test knit is looking already! Yarn is the test knit's requested Tukuwool DK.
