Does the cool, crisp weather have you getting cozy, knitting and trying to decide on your next project? It is not too early to start your gift knitting! Can you believe that there are only ten more weeks or 73 days until Christmas?
Are you ready to shift into weekend mode with the perfect summer to fall cowl? Here are a few!
Cast on The Shift by Andrea Mowry! This cowl is the perfect all-the-time accessory! And the answer for all of those knitters out there who love to knit shawls, but have a hard time styling them. A fun and engaging knit with shifting colors, that looks like an asymmetrical triangle shawl, and it only takes a fiddle-free second to throw it on as the finish to every outfit!

I love how beautiful The Shift looks knit using any combination of Schoppel Wolle Edition 3! @skacelknitting used 2298, 2301 and 2361 for their sample above.
Jocelyn (jocblais) in the top photo, knit her The Shift using 2298, 2328 and 2329. I plan to cast on mine using 2296, 2329 and 2361 after I finish my Wonky Rib Cowl!
The Killer Queen Cowl by Mary Annarella is a generously sized, asymmetrical cowl worked on the bias with 3 different stitch patterns.
The neckline is even engineered to taper a bit towards the neck to reduce the amount of bulk at the neck but still fit easily over your head.
There are 2 options for finishing the cowl: It may be sewn together at the edges, or you can add buttons and after-thought buttonholes with a crochet hook when the piece is finished.
Yardage Info
305 yards of the MC (2 skeins of Malabrigo Rios) and 180 yards of the CC (1 skein Rios).

For the entire month of October ALL of Laura Nelkin’scowl patterns are 25% off. You can choose from her 49 cowl patterns, including her cOWL mkal
Cowlstruck by Laura Nelkin is knit with a full-sized skein of DK weight yarn, accompanied by the vibrant accents of five colorful DK mini skeins.
It begins with a provisional cast-on and is knit in the round from start to finish. This tubular treasure is a tango of textures — alternating between brioche sections, garter stitch sections, and a delightful two-color tweed stitch.
You can also opt for a single contrasting skein to achieve a different yet equally striking result. And when you’re done, you have even more options! Wear it looped only once around your neck for a loose and breathable fit or wrap it multiple times to amp up the warmth.
Finished Measurements

WIPs and FOs
The Wonky Rib Cowl by Ewelina Murach for my Arroyo Week shop sample that I cast on last week, was my Thanksgiving weekend car knitting!!
I took this progress shot on Tuesday afternoon. The stitches on the Wonky Rib Cowl really do look wonky on this reversible cowl.
I am on round 57 of 100. I love how Malabrigo Arroyo in Aniversario looks!
I finished the tutu skirt that I started last Friday for the bunny in a dotty dress I knit for my new granddaughter who is expected to make her appearance today!! What should I name this bunny who still needs shoes??
My daughter has a bunny (Eggs Benedict 2) that I made in 2017 so the bunny on the left (Sammy that I made in 2018) will be staying in the shop.
I guess I only took progress shots of me wearing my Serkinet by Kate Davies Designs and not with it finished.
My Serkinet fits great but I wish the front neckline was a little lower. I suggested and showed Karen (kmae64 who is working on the front shoulders oof her Serkinet) how she should add some short rows to lower the front and raise the shoulders for a better fit.

Linda (lmcnorton) Baybee Blanket by Andrea Cretu using James C Brett Marble DK to learn how to do Tunisian crochet.
You can find this Cherish Beanie pattern and her other patterns in Veronica Topham (@xov.knits)’s Ravelry or Etsy shop or hand knit ones in Amherstburg at Pink Pisces.
