I hope that you have been enjoying summer despite the mixed bag of weather! Have you been staying indoors out of the humidity to knit like me? Most summers I try to sit out more than I have felt like this year.

Have you started your fall knitting? I am still working on summer knits but mid August is a good time to think about starting.

The Paulie Cardigan by Amy Christoffers is worked in an allover mosaic stitch. The fronts back and sleeves feature a motif based on a traditional quilt block. The cardigan is named after my Grandma Paulie who was a quilter and the inspiration for this pattern.

Yardage/meterage required is approximate. Total yarn usage will vary depending on the style yarn used, your individual gauge (row/round gauge will especially effect your yardage) and any modifications made. Please plan your yarn purchases accordingly.

NEEDLES
Circular needles 32” or longer size 4.5mm (US 7) (gauge needle) and 3.5mm (US 4) (for rib hem and Button band). The sleeves are worked in the round from the bottom up, choose your preferred method for working a small circumference: a 12” circular needle, a set of 4 or 5 double pointed needles, 2 circular or the magic loop cable needle method. Whichever method you choose, you will need a set of needles the same size of your gauge needle and a set 3 sizes smaller for the sleeve cuff.

GAUGE
20 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in Mosaic Knitting

If you aren't ready to start your fall knitting, there are plenty of summer tee patterns. The Peony Top by Minimi Knit Design is a beginner friendly loose fitting top with easy to knit lace edgings.

FOs and WIPs

Last Friday, I cast on and worked on the back of my Agave by Yumiko Alexander.

After finishing the back, I decided to frog the ribbing on the front and add another repeat of the lace before working the 8 rows of twisted rib again.

I blocked the two pieces as recommended before putting them together. The shoulder and side seams are sewn together and I’ll start soon on the sleeves. I love how the Quince & Co. Kestrel workedd for thiss pattern.

My Bunny by Julie Williams (Little Cotton Rabbits) has some new clothes for her wardrobe.

The grey sweater is from the Fox in a Star Sweater pattern. The top down cardigan pattern is from the Seasonal Sweaters Collection. The Deep Lace Border Dress is from the Textured Dresses pattern. The dungarees are from the Dungarees and Pinafore Dress pattern.
