January has been a rollercoaster with freezing cold one day with blustery strong winds and rain the next so I have been knit, knit, knitting whenever I get the chance...Have you too?
It has definitely been sweater weather and so cold that warm and cozy accessories are a must have for warmth.
The Alive Hat and Alive Cowl by SweaterFreak are her first releases of 2024. Use MADEITSOFAR to get 20% off until Friday, January 19, 2024 so hurry if you want either pattern.
The Alive Hat uses a clever slipped stitch for a fun plaid look and comes in two sizes with a double brim option.

Stash Dive Raglan by Summer Lee was designed to use up some of her ever-growing collection of leftover sock yarn.
This pattern is size inclusive and ranges from a 29” to a 64” inch bust. The pattern is written with 5” of positive ease.
Worsted Weight and Fingering Weight yardage needed by size: 29” (1100), 34” (1175), 37” (1250), 41.5” (1300), 45” (1375), 49” (1450), 53” (1575), 57” (1700), 61” (1775), 64” (1900)
The Stash Dive Raglan is knit seamlessly from the bottom up. Sleeves are knit separately and then joined to the body at the underarm with a raglan yoke. The sweater is knit with a strand of worsted weight yarn and a strand of sock yarn held together.
There are two different options for the neck - both crew and turtleneck. Additionally, there are options for a wider neck or a more fitted neck. The pattern includes tutorials for working with scrap yarn to achieve a marled, blended effect. The tutorials also detail two different methods for dealing with the scrap ends as you go so you won’t have to weave in a million ends when you’re done knitting!
NEEDLES
3.75 mm (US 5) and 4.50 mm (US 7)
GAUGE
18 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch with both yarns held together and larger needles
WIPs and FOs
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the plan was to knit the pockets for my Growing by Lone Kjeldsen in an alternate colour. As you can now see, I knit the pockets using a different colour of mohair for a subtly different fabric.
What do you think? The pockets are finished and sewn down. I used the blue mohair that I had leftover from my Paloma by Espace Tricot
.
I have barely started knitting my sleeves and until it is blocked, the fronts are curling but because I knit the outer pocket with 10 rows of the 3 x 1 rib, the pockets are not curling too much.
