Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Issue 394: Happy Wednesday! What is on your needles?

This morning was grey and dreary looking so it is hard to tell if it warm outside but while the mornings and evenings have been relatively cool, the afternoons have been quite warm. Have you been wearing your summer tees and are you ready to make another?

Summer tees and tank tops...what is not to love?

Twist Loop Top by Other Loops_

The Twist Loop Top by Other Loops is worked top-down in rib stitch. First, the shoulders are worked individually with increases toward the neck. The 2 shoulder panels are joined to form a front panel by casting on stitches at the front. The front panel is worked back and forth with cables and increasing for armholes. The back shoulders are worked individually with increases toward the neck. The 2 back shoulder panels are joined to form the back panel by casting on stitches at the back of the neck. The back panel is then worked back and forth in rib stitch with increases for armholes. The front and back panels are then joined, and the body is worked in the round in rib stitch and front cable pattern.

Stitches are picked up from the neck opening and worked in rib stitch; the neck hem is folded double and knitted down. Finally, stitches are picked up from the armhole and closed with an I-cord edge.

The Relax Tee by Aimee Sher

The Relax Tee by Aimee Sher is a wardrobe staple, and features compound raglan construction for a lovely fit, as well as two different sleeve lengths. Rippling garter ridges flow across this lovely top for an extra touch of visual and textural interest.

Worked top down, this is a satisfying knit, and the pattern comes with a raglan tracker so you are guided through the compound raglan. Your finished tee will be easy to wear and style, and has a delightful fit due to the compound raglan shaping and optional bust darts.

We love the short sleeve version for summer. The long sleeve version is perfect for showing off hand dyed yarn in non-superwash format, or with any other non-superwash fingering weight yarn.

The Relax Tee features gentle A-line shaping (optional) in the body that flows to a little more circumference to accommodate hips. A generous crew neck is featured with plenty of back and forth shaping so that it is comfortable for warmer weather.

 Traveling Solo by Joji Locatelli

Joji loves traveling. It fuels her heart and it fills her up with creative ideas and inspiration. She often thinks that if she wasn’t able to travel, she’d lose her drive, her will to create. She often travels with her family or friends, but sometimes she will fly solo. It is good to be in peace with one’s heart.

Traveling Solo by Joji Locatelli is a shawl designed for a single skein of yarn, traveling solo towards the destination to become something else… perhaps your next travel companion?

The construction of this crescent shaped shawl is really easy: it is worked flat from the top down, with increases at the beginning and at the end of each RS row.

Finished Measurements
Approx. 60¾“ 152 cm from side to side and 13½” 34 cm from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking).

 Harlow Flip by Andrea Mowry

It's getting to be that special time of year again where we try our darndest to knit a hat, start to finish, in one long weekend for the DRK Spring KAL Challenge hosted in my Ravelry group! This special KAL started 8 years ago on a whim, with my very first iteration of the Harlow hat!

She had been wanting a brimmed Harlow for years, and I finally perfected it! Harlow Flip is totally reversible, with the brim matching the side it’s folded to thanks to syncopated brioche. Two hats for the price of one??

Join in for the 8th Annual DRK May KAL Challenge!! Find all the details here!

FOs and WIPs

On Sunday, this was my progress as on my Geddy Yee by Tanis Lavallee.

On Sunday morning, this was my progress on my Geddy Yee by Tanis Lavallee. Next, I picked up and knit one sleeve.

I am almost finished the ribbing!

Monday morning, I picked up and worked the ribbing for the second sleeve and then I spent most of the day in the ER waiting to get my left knee looked at and to get an xray. Something happened to my knee the week of LYS Day when it became hard to put weight on my leg after sitting for even a few minutes. On Saturday, it felt like something else popped. While there waiting, I picked up and finished the neckband. After that, I went back to the body which I had put on hold to knit the sleeves and neckband. I am now almost finished the ribbing!

The ER nurse practitioner said the xrays didn't appear to show a break but thinks it is a meniscus tear but said an MRI through my family doctor might show more. In the meantime, I need a knee brace and I am using the crutches that I bought after I broke my leg 10 years ago.

Please come right in when you are here to minimize my having to go up and down the stairs too often!

 I tried it on yesterday!

I tried it on yesterday to double check the fit!

I like it! It's fun and colourful and I hope to get to wear it often.
