Gardener's Prayer Handwarmers & Hat by Yamagara Kit

Gardener's Prayer Handwarmers & Hat by Yamagara were designed as a set.

The inspiration for Gardener’s Prayer came from my plants. They are the first things I take care of every morning after waking up. Praying for people and things you care for bring a deeper relationship with them, and a sense of peace.

SIZE - Handwarmers

To fit circumference around palm
18-19 cm / 7-7½ ” , 19.5-20.5 / 7¾-8 ” , 21-22 / 8¼-8¾ ”

NEEDLES

One set of 3 mm / US 2½ dpns or your preferred needles for working small circumferences in the round.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS

1 stitch marker, 1 removable stitch marker, tapestry needle, waste yarn for making afterthought thumb (preferably of the same yarn weight, smooth and will not felt with your working yarn)

GAUGE (after blocking)

25.5 sts and 26.5 rows = 10 cm / 4” in colourwork chart with 3 mm / US 2½ dpns, worked in the round.

SIZE - Hat

One size

Circumference: 46 cm, unstretched
Height from top to rim : 20 cm

If you wish to make your hat wider, you can adjust your gauge or work the repeat section one more time.

NEEDLES

One 2.75 mm / US 2 circular needle with 100 cm / 40” cable for working the magic loop, or your preferred needles for working small circumference in the round

One 3 mm / US 2½ circular needle with 100 cm / 40” cable for working the magic loop, or your preferred needles for working small circumference in the round

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS

1 stitch marker, tapestry needle.

GAUGE (after blocking)

26 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” in colourwork chart with 3 mm / US 2½ circular needles, worked in the round.

YARN - for both

Approximately 32 (35, 38) g in total weight for a pair of handwarmers; 

160 (175, 190) m / 175 ( 190 , 210) yards.

Approximately 30 g in total weight for the hat.

My sample uses 4 colourways: 4 Brown as MC, FC7 as CC1, FC11 as CC2, 29Mix as CC3.

It is a good idea to consider two colourways that will create a gradient when choosing CC2 and CC3. If you do not wish to create a gradient, you can use the same colourway for CC2 and CC3. In this case, you will use only 3 colourways.

Kit includes: Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight - yarn only in a vinyl bag. Patterns can be purchased on Ravelry.
