The Odyssey Shawl was created for The Malabrigo Dos Tierras KAL Kit includes 3 hanks of Dos Tierras yarn perfect for participating in Malabrigo's first ever KAL (Knit-Along). The KAL pattern is Odyssey by Joji Locatelli, a beautiful crescent-shaped shawl comprised of 3 lace-edged garter stitch sections. Dos Tierras is a cable-plied, DK weight blend of fine Merino and baby alpaca that is soft to the touch and has a fantastic drape.
Pattern modifications
You will need to make small adjustments because the pattern as written uses a 6 mm (US10) needle.
In order not to run out of yarn, you will want to make sure that your gauge, after washing and blocking, is 17 sts per 4 inches and the finished sample measures 62.5” wingspan and 17” deep. Their Sample Knitter used a 5 mm (US 8) needle to achieve this gauge, so it is extremely important that you match this gauge in your swatch before starting your project. Use the skein you plan to use for the second colour for swatching!
