Join us for Local Yarn Store Day starting tomorrow Saturday, April 17, 2021! Every purchase made between April 17th to April 19th will be entered into a draw that I will make on Tuesday! Special giveaways for the first 20 orders!

LYS Day is a wonderful way for customers to show the love for their local yarn shops and for yarn shops to thank their customers for their continued support. Get in on the fun and make LYS Day 2021 an event to remember!

The Opalite Shawl was designed by Sarah E. Chapman originally for LYS Day 2020 (April 2020) which was cancelled. It is a beautiful striped wrap that is a study in colour illusion!

The Opalite Fino stripe wrap is a study in color illusion: the colors of Willa are hand-picked to step up and down in color value. The result? A gorgeous wrap that appears as if it’s rippling in the breeze, thanks to the light-to-dark color palette. Opalite by Sarah E. Chapman is knit on the bias with changing colors, so it’s a project that will keep you engaged from beginning to end!

Shown in an exclusive Fino Mini-Skein Kit for LYS Day 2020: Kit #20 Willa! Please note that Opalite requires one Fino Mini-Skein Kit and one full skein of Fino to complete. Opalite Kits can be found HERE.

Note: The pattern and kits were originally for LYS Day 2020 for April of 2020 which was cancelled and then later re-scheduled for September of 2020.

Laura Nelkin is hosting a new Mystery Knit-A-Long, her first one in 4 years! The first clue drops May 12, 2021.

If you get a kit or decide to go stash diving, she has a comprehensive video where she goes over what you need to know to be ready for OPEN MINDS MKAL. It’s worth watching, since it’s tricky to choose yarn when you don’t know what you’re knitting!

If you’ve never heard of a Mystery Knit-a-long, you can read all about how they work on the blog! Laura goes over the details, and talks a bit about what she thinks makes MKALs so special.

If you decide to start with an Opalite Shawl Kit, you will need to add LY (lace yarn) - 654 yd (598 m) of lace weight yarn. Optional- Approx. 40 grams Size 6/0 glass seed beads (CLUES #4, #5, and #6), Tool for placing beads.

HOW IT WORKS: Sign up by purchasing the pattern!
