Friday, August 26, 2022, Issue 262: Lazy summer days...Happy Friday!

I can't believe that it is the last week of August and that it is almost September. With summer winding down, are you anticipating the cooler fall weather? Are you still knitting for summer or are you knitting for sweater weather?

I am anticipating sweater weather, are you?

The Three Season Cardigan by Wool & Pine is out today! Are you going to cast on?

The classic cable-knit sweater goes from closet staple to statement piece in our latest pattern, Three Season Cardigan. With it’s variations of texture, open weave worsted lace, richly braided cables and a fresh, easily customizable semi-cropped silhouette, it’s perfect for layering over your favorite dresses and high-waisted jeans for a versatile slow-fashion boost to your wardrobe this Fall, Winter and Spring!

Three Season Cardigan is our most advanced pattern yet, suitable for intermediate to advanced garment knitters. While the textured stitches, lace and cables are relatively straightforward, the pattern requires a knowledge of reading charts as they will not be transcribed for this pattern.

However, thorough written directions, schematics and video tutorials are included for ease of construction. The pattern also includes in-depth tutorials for the special techniques featured in Three Season Cardigan such as provisional cast-on, joining shoulders and adding buttonholes.

Needle Size: US8 (or to meet gauge) along with one size smaller (for ribbing) and one size larger (for sleeves) than needle used to meet gauge for main sweater body.

Gauge: See pattern for complete gauge information & a special chart for swatching

Sizing: Visit woolandpine.com to watch a video on customizing your cardigan and choosing the right size along with a schematic with complete sizing info.

Yarn: Worsted

Yardage: Yardages listed include swatching and are for a cropped body. If you are planning to extend the body we recommend purchasing extra yarn.

A one skein shawl is such a pretty thing to make. They are always worthy of our finest treasured yarns, they yield almost instant gratification and they are, truly, the most fun accessories to spice up your daily wardrobe.
This simple crescent shaped shawl can be made with just 1 skein of fingering (sock weight) yarn. It alternates bands of slipped sts, garter stitch and short rows.
The crescent is asymmetrical (it’s longer towards one side) and its characteristic shape is achieved by working increases over the edges.

MATERIALS
approx. 440 yards 400m of fingering weight yarn.
Needles: US 7 4.5 mm needles.
Other notions: Tapestry needle, a split ring st marker or similar, blocking pins or wires. Crochet hook if you wish to add a fringe.

GAUGE
