Friday, January 7, 2022, Issue 230: Happy Friday!

It is a brand new year so Happy New Year! Once again we are in the middle of another wave of Covid with the Omicron Variant in the forefront.

In-Store Shopping

We are still open for in-store shopping, limiting store capacity to under 10. I am not comfortable with more than that even if we can. We are still not able to teach classes so they are once again being put on the back burner. Our Tuesday Knit Afternoon and Thursday Knit Nights have still been running but we have dropped the numbers the capacity to 5. Please call to reserve your spot.

Masks

Customers must be FULLY masked at ALL TIMES. That means no letting your mask drop below your nose!

Online and Curbside

Remember that everything is available online so if you need yarn, needles, books or anything else, you can shop online and we can carry it out to your car for you. Keep in mind that if there is a Ravelry pattern you want that isn't listed online, it can be added and printed for you, just let us know.

WIPs and FOs

I don't have any finished projects...It has been a busy couple of weeks culminating in me doing inventory this week! Inventory is always such a BIG job but I am finished again for another year.

Last week, I swatched and then cast on a Magnolia Bloom Tunic by Camilla Vad! Yarn is Berroco Mochi in 3206 Ice and Drops Kid Silk in 37 North Sea.

It is sweater weather! During the week of Christmas, I swatched and then cast on a Magnolia Bloom Tunic by Camilla Vad! I decided on Berroco Mochi in 3206 Ice and Drops Kid Silk in 37 North Sea.

By last Friday, I had separated the sleeves and the body. Do you see? I am using the two shorter lengths of Purl Strings for the sleeve stitches that are on hold.

Purl Strings let you try on your handknit sweaters in progress so you can get the perfect fit. Made by a fellow local yarn store owner, these flexible rubber hollow cords are perfect for trying on your knitting without removing it from your needles or losing your stitches! The long cord works well for sweater bodies, and the two shorter cords work well for sleeves OR for children's sweaters.

I haven’t progressed too much since last week on my Magnolia Bloom Tunic…only a few more inches!

I haven’t progressed too much since last week…only a few more inches but now that inventory is done, I will be able to get more knit soon!

KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

The newest Knit-Alongs are the Any Sweater / Shawl KAL and the Knit Any Project: our everlasting knit-along to encourage and support you to knit which is running from January 1 to April 30, 2022. I will get a thread started soon!

Remember to post photos to the finished object (FO) thread when you finish a project during the Knit-Along so that you will be included in the next draw! We will also add the option of posting your finished project to Instagram using the #sue2knitskal so that I can find them!

The previous Knit-Along ran from September 1 to December 31, 2021. Congratulations to Beverley Joffe  for winning the December 31st draw!
