The weather under our gazebo was so comfortable this week that I spent a lot of time knitting outside... This morning was wet and gloomy...what will the weekend bring?
Last Saturday for Worldwide Knit in Public Day, the weather was perfectly dry if not a little too hot. We had a wonderful turn out but unfortunately, no one including me, remembered to take photos!
A great big thank you to everyone who came, with a special shout out to Jen who helped host for part of the day outside and to Kathy for helping inside.
Forest Glass by This.Bird.Knits is a great stash busting sweater and a chance to play around with colors and scraps of yarn for each stripe! You can get creative with your yarn substitutes here! Just make sure you check your gauge!Short rows are worked across the back to shape the shoulders. The sleeves and body are separated and worked separately down to the cuff and hem. The color work is continued from the yoke down the body and the sleeves.

Tapestry needle
Gauge
20 stitches x 23 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round with larger needles.
Suggested yarns are sport or DK weight yarn such as Kelbourne Woolens Scout (DK) or Andorra (sport), Schoppel Wolle Edition 3 or Starke 6. I know that I have leftover Starke 6!
I love aidyltink’s Nasrin by Isabell Kraemer which she knit with the cropped body length and short sleeves.
Nasrin (the wild rose sweater) is worked seamlessly from the top down. First some short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck and then the yoke is worked in the round to sleeve separation. Some last short rows are worked to finish the yoke shaping right before sleeve stitches are placed on hold. The body is then worked in rounds down to the hem. Sleeves are worked top down to the cuffs last. Optional neck finishing is worked last.
The pattern includes 2 colorwork charts (option 1: outlined, option 2: solid).

WIPs and FOs
The Fireworks Olive Knits 4 Day Knit-Along store sample that I cast on last week is coming along! I love the colour I chose to knit mine with...I am using The Fibre Co Arranmore Light in the Orla colourway. If you plan to join in, it starts July 1 until July 31. The Pre-Order Fireworks by Marie Greene pattern can be purchased HERE. The official pattern will be added to your Ravelry library early on July 1st.
The yoke takes some time to do but I can see how it will be worth the effort.
I finished my Rhys by Alison Green that I knit for the Berroco Cardi Party 2.0 running from May 15 to June 25th! Yarn is Berroco Cambria.
The columns of eyelets that are featured on the back and fronts are eye catching!
I like the reverse side of my Rhys too! With it being seamed, all of the ends are buried in them and even though I knit the sleeves in the round, the few ends there are invisible too.
It is like having two cardigans in one!
Here is the frog of the Frog and Toad by Kristina Ingrid McGowan that I am knitting for my grandson’s birthday gift!
His pants took me more time to make than I would have thought they would take. I am so slow at ribbing!
Now I need to sew in the ends on his little jacket. Isn't he the cutest thing?
