Friday, June 2, 2023, Issue 299: Happy Friday! What's on your needles?

It has been very hot and humid outside...Don't we seem to always complain when it's too hot, too wet, too chilly or too windy? I am not sure whether we are in for a scorching hot weather this weekend but I am going to try to sit and knit out in the gazebo!

Knit Alongs and Make Alongs are very popular! Here are more but if you didn't see last week's post where I included the Supernova MKAL and the Lemon Spritz - Olive Knits 7th Annual 4 Day KAL, see it HERE.

Berroco is excited to be hosting a Summer Tee Make Along beginning July 1 until August 31, 2023!

Berroco is excited to be hosting a Summer Tee Make Along beginning July 1 until August 31, 2023! This year they are kicking it back to a popular theme, tees! We love wearing tees all year round. It's a perfect layering piece and works well in all kinds of climates.

You can make any tee you want using Berroco yarns or their family brands: Lopi, WoolAddicts, Amano, West Yorkshire Spinners, and Lang Yarns. Use #berrocoyarn and #summerteeparty23 to tag your projects on Facebook and Instagram so they can see what you make.

There will be many opportunities to connect, share and cheer each other on in their Facebook Berroco Makers group and over in their Berroco Lovers group on Ravelry. They know how important it is to take some time to make something for ourselves and what's great about a tee is the low commitment (hurrah no sleeves!).

Use the code BerrocoTeeParty23 for one free tee pattern download on Berroco.com. Coupon expires August 1, 2023

Tees featured above from top L to R: Top Row Campana, Maëlle, Vilamoura, Solidago, Middle: Sorbet, Vincas, Espalmador, Etta (also above), Bottom: Vittoria, Tatin, Ammi, Faience

Speaking of accessories, Amble is wonderful for soft, drapey shawls that are perfect for throwing over your shoulders on cooler evenings, Mullien by Amanda Jones and Astris by Makenzie Alvarez shawls will certainly be a talking point of any outfit.

If garment making is more your thing then Amble offers, softness, drape and delicate stitch details all with an easy wash format. Planetary sweater by Melanie Berg is a popular lightweight sweater all year round.

I knit my swatch last week and my shop sample is on my needles! Will you be joining me for the Lemon Spritz, Olive Knits 7th Annual 4 Day KAL?

After a fitful start because I was stressing about the increases, I just went full steam ahead on my Lemon Spritz sample for the Olive Knits 4 Day KAL!

After a fitful start because I was stressing about the increases, I just went full steam ahead on my Lemon Spritz sample for the Olive Knits 4 Day KAL! I am a loose knitter who is using 3.25 mm needles.

This year’s pattern is a celebration of sunshine & summer! We’re knitting a lightweight, plant-based fiber tee for warm weather (and/or for those of us experiencing our own personal summer at any given moment). The Lemon Spritz Tee is a light and breezy summer top that is perfect for warm weather wear!

Yarn ideas: Queensland Collection Dungarees Paint which is what I am using; Rowan Cotton Cashmere, BC Garn Allino or Noro Sonata

I am on my 4th chart repeat and almost to where I will separate for the fronts and the backs!

I haven't worked too much on on my Serkinet by Kate Davies for our Kate Davies KAL but I am on my 4th chart repeat. I am almost to where I want separate for the fronts and the backs! The pattern calls for 28 cm or 11 inches to the underarms but I am aiming for 30.5 cm or 12 inches.
