Mother's Day is this weekend, that special day when we do everything to show our love! Well for us yarn lovers, forget the flowers because your Mom (or you) wants yarn or something related to her passion for making! Of course, we also have Gift Cards!

It feels like we skipped spring and we've landed in summer right now. Are you feeling the need to make a few summer tees?

Tresoro by Isabell Kraemer is a classic raglan tee that is worked seamlessly from the top down.

First some short rows are worked to shape the neckline. Raglan increases are then worked to the final yoke depth, where sleeve stitches are put on hold. From this point the body is worked in rounds down to the ribbing. The body could be either worked straight or with a light A-line shaping. Then sleeve stitches are picked up again to work the sleeves in rounds top down to the cuffs. An Italian bind-off for body and sleeves will add the perfect finishing touch to this classy raglan tee. No finishing required.

US 2 1/2 (3 mm) 16 “ (40 cm) and 32” (80 cm) circular needle and DPNs (or longer circular needle for magic loop) for neck, body and sleeve ribbing.
US 3 (3.25 mm) 16” (40 cm) and 32” (80 cm) circular needle and DPNs (or longer circular needle for magic loop) for yoke, body and sleeves.

Gauge
24 sts x 35 rows = 4” (10 cm) square in Stockinette stitch on larger needle after blocking.

Della Mae Tank by Angela Hahn is summer-ready, both to knit and to wear! With beautiful front & back V necks and centered flowing cables, this piece has a flattering fit and is stylishly comfortable.

The cable-accented V-neck, angled armholes and split back hem flatter many body types, and the wide ribbing can be blocked to the same circumference as the body, or allowed to pull in slightly, accenting the waist. Even though Della Mae is worked in a sock weight yarn, its slightly cropped length and shaped armholes make it a relatively quick project, and the cabled accents at center front and back keep the knitting process interesting, without requiring constant attention.

Skill level: Intermediate; skills include reading a chart, cable knitting, working in the round, decreasing, 3-needle bind-off, and attached I-cord.

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge 28 sts/38 rnds to 4”/10 cm in St st. Measure gauge on blocked swatch.

WIPs

These are the WIPS on my needles! Serkinet by Kate Davies Designs for the #sue2knitskatedavieskal and Bogota by Le Style Knitting.

I had planned to set my Bogota on hold to work only my Kate Davies Knit Along project but I couldn’t not work on it! This is my progress on Wednesday. I have more finished in the photo above.

I still have more lace repeats to go before the body is finished! The lace will be about 8.5 inches. The yarn that I am using for my Bogota is BC Garn Bio Balance.

I had the ribbing done but yesterday, I finally started working on the charts for my Serkinet. Now I am on row 11 of the charts. The yarn I decided to use for my Serkinet is Tukuwool DK, a woolen spun two-ply yarn. Unfortunately my photo doesn't show off the twisted stitch detail yet.

Karen took this of Debbie (@love.knit.spin.weave) and I on her last day with us before her move to PEI. We are really going to miss her! Sonia (Soniabknits) has finished the Garri by Védís Jónsdóttir for Ístex that knit her husband but here is trying it on! Yarn is Istex Alafosslopi.

Brenda (bmallat42) finished this Purl Ridge Scarf by Stephen West while in Florida. Yarn is Malabrigo Rios.

Connie (knitnut246) finished her first felted project, the Vintage Bubble Bag by Eva Wiechmann.

This is Linda (lmcnorton)’s second crocheted Perfect Planned Pooling Scarf by Marly Bird.

Paulette (@psknitting50) is going to use these 4 hand spun yarns with the Hedgehog Tweedy as her main colour to knit herself another Ninilchik Swoncho by Caitlin Hunter. She is working on her fifth CC.
