Friday, May 27 2022, Issue 249: Happy Friday!!

Last week's crazy weather was not at all what I expected! Let's hope we have a great weekend ahead of us because I want to be able to sit back, relax and knit preferably out on my deck!

There are quite a few Knit-A-Longs (KALs) running or starting soon!

The Fibre Co is thrilled to again celebrate a Month of Socks with the upcoming One Sock Knitting Classes with Kate Atherley!

The Fibre Co is thrilled to again celebrate a Month of Socks with the upcoming One Sock Knitting Classes with Kate Atherley!

The One Sock Class with teaching extraordinaire Kate Atherley will take you from the first stitches on your One Sock to the final finish with lots of tricks and tips in between. Great for knitters who have never knit a sock and are keen to try, but there will also be plenty of information for those who have knit socks, but would like to do it better! Sign up to the mailing list to receive the class registration link: https://thefibreco.com/events/ Don't forget to get the One Sock pattern to be ready to cast on with Kate on 8th June! https://thefibreco.com/product/one-so...

One Sock is a classic top-down sock pattern to fit all feet.

One Sock is a classic top-down sock pattern to fit all feet, designed in our sock yarn Amble. With lots of opportunities to customize the fit and design, this pattern comes with the One Sock Guidebook, a resource that walks makers through the process of knitting beautiful socks that fit, as well as an opportunity to practice your new sock skills with the beginner-friendly Baby Sock pattern.

Now, I only have two One Sock Kits - Deluxe from The Fibre Co. left in inventory but you can knit your socks using any sock yarn! Use Sandnes Garn Sisu, CoopKnits Socks Yeah!, West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply or Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20.

Join us for the 6th annual Olive Knits 4 Day KAL! The Pre-Order for the Sailaway Cardigan is live on Ravelry with 15% off now through June 6, 2022!

Join us for the Sailaway- the 6th Annual 4 Day KAL with Olive Knits! The Pre-Order for the Sailaway Cardigan by Marie Greene is live on Ravelry with 15% off now through June 6, 2022! This year’s 4 Day KAL sweater comes with a bonus second version - two for one!

This year’s sweater is a top-down, seamless cardigan with a round yoke shape and traditional button bands. It features one main color and two contrast colors. This year’s pattern will feature a range of yarns to include options that are readily available at yarn shops, online, and from our favorite dyers. I’ve also included plantbased options for those in warmer climates.

The pattern features an easy-to-follow slipped stitch design (no colorwork) to provide quick, satisfying results.

Option 1: The Sailaway original version includes two contrast colors in the yoke design - it’s perfect for those who LOVE color.

Option 2: The “Coastal Grandma” version is a two-color variation on the original with additional contrast details, a taller collar and pinstripe accents.

Watch for KITS coming soon! Instead of a Kit, make your own version using DK weight: Kelbourne Woolens Scout, Berroco Vintage DK, The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light, or Rowan Felted Tweed. For the Coastal Grandma Version, consider Schoppel Wolle Edition 3 for your contrast colour!

Foorr the worsted weight version: Stolen Stitches Nua Worsted, The Fibre Co. Cumbria, Berroco Vintage, Berroco Ultra Alpaca

I started my sample for the Olive Knits 4 Day Sailaway Cardigan KAL!

I started my sample for the Olive Knits 4 Day Sailaway Cardigan KAL! I am a loose knitter so I cast on for my swatch of 36 rows on May 22nd using 3.5 mm needles. The gauge that I got was 23 stitches = 4 inches. For my cardigan, I cast on using 3.0 mm needles for my ribbing and 3.75 mm needles for the body.

I am on the second of three sections in the yoke!

Now I am on the second of three sections in the yoke! What do you think so far? I am knitting mine using Kelbourne Woolens Scout for the DK weight gauge. I chose Strawberry Heather as my main colour and Oatmeal Heather and Mulberry Heather for my contrast colours.
