There is a nip in the air in the morning and again at night already. I am ready to enjoy sweater weather but is it sweater weather yet? I find that I am not ready to wear my fall sweaters yet but I am ready to knit them!
The Weekender Crew by Andrea Mowry was designed as an alternate neckline for those who aren’t comfortable in a boat neck in a DK weight by popular request! The drop shoulder was brought down the sleeves for an extra polished finish, and of course added pockets!
This sweater is worked from the bottom up, seamlessly, except for a small seam at the underarms. Starting with a split hem, the body is joined in the round and worked that way until the divide for the sleeves. The remainder is worked flat, and the shoulders are finished with an exposed seam created using the 3 needle bind off.

Have you seen that Jackie (dominirose) and Caitlin (Caitlinknit) who have the Cady Jax Knits podcast on YouTube did a 3 Day Weekender KAL and co-hosted by The Lamb & Kid? The KAL ran from the July 4th weekend until the Labor Day weekend. Her first KAL Weekender and her mods for that version can be found in her Ravelry project notes.
Ravelry group cohosted with Lamb & Kid here:
https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/the-lamb--kid/4265197/1-2...
Originally to join the KAL, you had to cast on a Weekender in any yarn you chose, and you had to modify the pattern in some way. I still see that the KAL thread is still active.
The green Weekender that Jackie is wearing above was the third that she knit with mods. You can find her mods and her neckline turtleneck mod YouTube video link in her project notes.
Caitlin (Caitlinknits) knit the XS to get the medium with the bigger gauge and opted to not add sleeves.
WIPs and FOs
I have been busy putting together Gist weaving kits so when I think about it, I haven't knit much lately. I am still no further on my Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter. Maybe I will get a chance to work on it this weekend.
There are 340 stitches on my needles for my Lace & Fade Boxy by Joji for the Joji Fall KAL 2023, so each row is taking long enough that I kept putting it down!
What do you think? I think I love my colour and yarn choice! I am knitting the Lace & Fade Boxy using Hedgehog Fibres Sock in Salty Tales and Pet Rock.
I chose to knit the smallest size with the size 4 arm measurement. I steam blocked it to open up the lace before trying it on.
