Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Issue 380: What is on your needles?

With grey and cloudy skies some of the time and sunshine some of the time, and the still cold sweater weather that we have been having, a cozy sweater, shawl or socks make the best projects to reach for!

Sophie’s Sweater by eri shimizu is a deep raglan pullover worked from the top down. The yoke is worked in the round in one piece until the sleeves and body are separated at the underarm. The sleeves are also worked top-down in the round. You can decorate the purl ridges with a simple satin stitch if you wish like below.

Ebba Hat by Kristin Drysdale

Kristin Drysdale loves Valentine’s Day. She loves winter and paper hearts and Valentines boxes and kids walking home from school with love notes from every member of the class. She designed the Ebba Hat to celebrate Valentine’s all year round.

I hope you make it for your loved ones, and leave it on their porch. I hope it makes you happy to knit, and I hope that the lucky receiver adores it. And I hope some of you make it for yourself! I keep thinking (to quote a song from my childhood) that What the World Needs Now, Is Love, Sweet Love… I hope this little hat with it’s hearts and Xs and Os helps you spread some love regardless of the season you make it in.

Ebba is knit in the round, with corragated ribbing and colorwork from bottom to top. There are some rows with 3 colors, but most rows are worked with two color. It’s a fairly quick knit.

I finished my Mokosh Pullover by Teti Lutsak!

My Mokosh Pullover by Teti Lutsak

None of the progress photos that I have taken really show how fluffy it is but I think that this one does.

My Mokosh Pullover by Teti Lutsak

When I blocked this one, I didn't lay it flat to dry but hung it up to dry instead.

My Mokosh Pullover by Teti Lutsak

I love the fit and I didn't need to add to the neckline with the optional collar section.

The short rows in the back drops the front just enough while looking great at the same time.

I cast on the Aros Sweater by PetiteKnit on Saturday

I cast on the Aros Sweater by PetiteKnit on Saturday. I am knitting it with Hedgehog Tweedy in Noir, Dreaming in Light, Natural and Bliss. I have my cake of yarn unwinding with a Lykke Craft Works Pendel.

 Progress on my Aros Sweater

Instead of working until the separation of the body and the sleeves, I decided to pick up and knit the folded over collar first.

 Progress on my Aros Sweater

After sewing down the collar to the inside, the collar looks great.

 Progress on my Aros Sweater

The folded over collar fits nicely and is not too big or loose.
