Are you ready for the holidays yet?? Holiday get togethers are wonderful, with family, friends, good food, good cheer!

The shop has three groups but I also belong to two other groups! I guess I can't get enough knitting time with friends!

At Tuesday evenings Knit Night, Carola brought along her Girl Bunny by Julie Williams of Little Cotton Rabbits and the little lace dress, ballerina wrap and tutu! Hers is so big compared to all of the others that we have made but my oh my, she is cute!

I adore her ballerina outfit!!

Carol also brought the two bunnies that she has made! Hers are bigger as well - almost as big as Carola's! Amazing how much personality they each have!

They are going to be the perfect gifts for someone!

Last year, I included these slippers but since I think they are a great gift knit, I am going to include it again! Uppsala Slippers by Ram Wools Yarn Co-op is a pattern for a slipper with a contrasting cuff and a stranded top of foot and coordinating pattern on bottom of foot. There are four size options ranging from Length 7.5”, Width 8.5” to Length 10.25”, Width 10” included. One skein each of Main Color and Contrast Color are needed in an aran weight yarn. The gauge is 24 stitches = 4 inches in stranded stockinette stitch using 3.75 mm (US 5) needles. Knit them in red and white and wow...Christmas slippers!

I am no further along on my Chevron Cloud shawl but I did finish...

Finished the hat to match the cowl I had on my needles! Design 7 and 8 from Lana Grossa’s Best of Olympia is satisfyingly quick! I used two balls of Olympia for both pieces like Deb while Nicole knit hers using three balls.

My Ninilchik Swoncho has progressed to the hem!! A few more rows of ribbing and then on to the sleeves which I plan to knit with a 1x1 rib instead of the 2x2 rib they use in the pattern.

Carola’s sister first spun and then dyed the yarn she used to crochet Heidi Bears’ Nellie the Elephant African Flower! Truly a work of art!!

In addition to her Girl Bunny, Carols has finished a Bobby’s Girl Cardigan by Alma with another one almost done!

Sandi’s felted bag knit with LettLopi is super cool! Love the dogs!

December 21st there will be people all over the world knitting for peace. Let's fill this day with hope and have fun doing it. This is the day the Healthy Knitter (http://www.thehealthyknitter.com/) decided to call "World-wide knit-in for peace." She chose this day, solstice, to represent the balance between light and dark in the two hemispheres.

Knitters around the world knitting with the intention of peace. On Ravelry, the Project Peace 2018 pattern by Christina Campbell is available. The pattern can be purchased on Ravelry at https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/project-peace-2018.

This year’s proceeds from the Project Peace pattern will be donated to Seeds of Peace, teaching youth from around the world to be leaders that will transform their communities and resolve conflict. The other organization that will be supported is Gardens for Health, working to end chronic malnutrition, a known predictor of violence.
