This week's crazy wet, grey and humid weather was not at all what I expected! Let's hope we have a great weekend ahead of us where we can take advantage of it to spend it outdoors enjoying some sun while sitting and knitting or spending some time gardening.
Do you love summer tees and tank tops?
A classic V-neck is always flattering! Roll Over the Top by Hinterm Stein is a classic V-neck with 3 shaping options. The simple rolled edges and the loose fit make this top an uncomplicated summer basic.
Roll over the Top is knit seamlessly from the top down; the pattern is easy and does not require too much concentration. Perfect for hot days!
All edgings are worked as you go, which means no annoying finishing work!
3 Options: straight, moderate A-line or more hip width
SIZES
XS – S – M – L – XL – 2XL – 3XL – 4XL
Bust width (finished top) / Oberweite: 81-89-96-104-113-123-132-144 cm
/ 32.5-35.5-38.5-41.25-45.25-53-57.5”
(Options for in-between-sizes (+2-4cm/.5-1”) or additional hip width) #sizeinclusive
YARN
Any yarn matching the gauge, sport- or DK weight (approx. 100-120m /110-135yds per 50g), best in a drapey material like linen, silk, rayon
Sample was knit in BC Garn Allino (cotton+linen) 125m/50g in size M with moderate A-line
590-645-700-755-825-895-965-1050m /

Differences in gauge and yarn choice may affect the yarn requirements.
NEEDLES
3.50-4.00 mm (US 5-6) circular needles or size needed for gauge, 80-100cm/32-40
GAUGE
21 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette
Ela (pallasathena23) knit her Roll Over the Top using Malabrigo Finito. I don't carry Finito but Malabrigo Sock and Ultimate Sock will give the same look and feel.
It doesn’t take a genius to know the most beautiful yarns are best showcased with a simple pattern. A Study in Pink by Melanie Berg, named for a Sherlock Holmes mystery, is a lovely lace shirt or sweater worked seamlessly from the top down with a touch of lace at the yoke and hem.
It’s the perfect knit for a prized hand-dyed yarn.
SIZES
Measurements given are for the finished garment. Designed to fit with 4 - 6” [10 - 15 cm] of positive ease at the bust, less for larger sizes. Photos show size 2 on a 38” / 96.5 cm bust model.

SUGGESTED YARN:
Leo & Roxy MCS Sock or Lichen and Lace 80/20 Sock)
FOs and WIPs
There were so many ends to sew in! In this photo, most of them have been sewn in!
I finished my Ariana by Amy Christoffers! Looking at it, I wish had put in more buttonholes. I don't like them so far apart and even though they are spaced with the same number of stitches in between, they look unevenly spaced. Not sure but I will probably undo the bind off and frog back to redo the buttonholes.
I am very happy with the fit except for the sleeves which are longer after blocking than before.
I am also happy that I decided to eliminate the batwing part of the pattern under the arms.
I used Stolen Stitches Nua Worsted, a blend of merino, yak, and linen. Nua is non-superwash, which creates a lighter yarn with a bit more bounce, making blocking easier and helping projects (especially garments) to hold their shape nicely.

I have my sample started for the Spill the Tea KAL - the Olive Knits 4 Day KAL 2024.
Madelinetosh TML + Tweed in Fatal Attraction and Koigu KPM in 1520 (lime green) and Collector's Club KPPPM Macarons are what I chose to knit mine with.
The pattern is a pullover sleeveless vest with a V-neck and can be worn as a tee or over another shirt/tank top. The pattern texture is super fun to knit, and EASY to memorize. After just one repeat, you’ll be cruising along without having to constantly check the pattern.
Lace doesn't look like anything before blocking so I steam blocked this little section so that you can see the lace opened up.
