Being a cardigan is no small task. Most people will rely on you to comfort them, to warm them, to make them feel better… even to look better! No question, a cardigan can be a very, very good friend. Part of the first sleeve on my The Twigs

Since last week, I finished the hem 3x3 ribbing on my The Twigs by Junko Okamoto. I used the same size needles for my ribbing (2.25 mm).

I have several inches left to go on the long sleeve cuffs unless I decide on 3/4 length sleeves.

I knit my sleeves using 2.5 mm short circulars. Right now I have several inches left to go on the long sleeve cuffs unless I decide on 3/4 length sleeves instead of 60 rows. What do you think, 3/4 length or to my wrist?

Started this test knit using The Fibre Co Cumbria. I swatched using US 4, 5 and 6.

I started the #oksasweatertest knit above using The Fibre Co Cumbria. I swatched using 3.5 mm, 3.75 mm and 4.0 mm (US 4, 5 and 6) needles. The pattern calls for 4.5 mm (US 7) and since I usually have to go down a needle size so I started my swatch using the 3.5 mm needles.

If you are wondering about my swatch (which I didn't work in the round), I cast on 30 stitches. I worked a few rows of garter so that my swatch stays flat and 3 stiitches on each edge in garter stitch. Work enough rows for a good sized swatch, ideally to more rows that the gauge requires. I do a yarnover and K2tog for each US needle size so you can remember what needle size you used so for a US 4, work 4 yarnovers somewhere within each section. Work a purl row between each swatch section.

Above, I started with the US 4 but my gauge was 22 stitches. Next, i used 4.0 mm but the gauge was looking too big but in the end after blocking, the gauge was 20 stitches. The third swatch section was knit using US 5 which after blocking gave me a gauge of 21 stitches.
