It has been feeling a like spring out there! Are you ready to start your warm weather knitting projects or will you continue your cozy projects for a few more weeks?

Melt by Andrea Mowry is her newest pattern. Andrea's favorite ingredients for shawl knitting are color and texture.. Melt combines garter stitch with playful stripes, two color brioche and even lace to keep you knitting “just one more row” all the way to the bind off. This shawl is knit sideways and the entirety of the shawl is encased in a polished I-cord edge.

Malabrigo Rios, Madelinetosh Tosh DK
For this shawl she chose to use a DK weight, 100% super wash merino yarn. The DK gives major squish factor, while the merino yarn is incredibly soft with loads of drape - perfect for wrapping up in!

WIPS and FOs

I haven't done too much knitting lately, I have been too tired and sore but I have made some progress on my Turtle Dove II that I cast on after our First Top Down Pullover Class started.

On Saturday, I finished the first ball of Berroco Remix, the yarn I am knitting my Turtle Dove II.

I have separated the body from the sleeves and have almost finished my second ball of Remix. Most of the class is using Drops Air and I had intended to but changed my mind at the last minute to a summer yarn.

Rita (ritz) finished test knitting the March 2024 Update of Mud Season by Elizabeth Smith (available as a free Ravelry download).

Rita held three yarns held together to get gauge 1 sock yarn, 1 slub yarn and Rico Design Creative Make it Tweed Neon.

Carol came in for yesterday’s Knit Afternoon, to bring back the loom she used for our recent weaving class and to show off her finished Orchid Blossom Woven Scarf using Berroco Sesame.

Gloria has been having fun knitting this Fox and Horse (Unicorn) by Julie Williams @littlecottonrabbits.

She and her sister Carolyn have made many of Julie's patterns since Carolyn took our Bunny class!
