Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Issue 348: Happy Wednesday! What is on your needles?

It has been unbelievably hot and humid outside and a little overcast. Although it is supposed to get a little cooler over the next few days, we finally turned on our air conditioner!

Isabell Kraemer has another new pattern! She said, this color makes me so happy …..
hope the pattern for this “little sunshine” makes you happy too.

Lillesol is worked seamlessly from the top down. The back is worked in plain Stockinette stitch while the front features a beautiful faux cable pattern panel at the center.

This or That begins with a choice between your preferred shape, Shawl or Wrap, followed by clues presented weekly over four weeks. Both the Shawl and Wrap will follow the same design/stitch patterns; only the shape will differ. Each of the clues will offer a choice between Path A or Path B. Follow Path A or Path B for a standalone design with each clue flowing into the next. Or mix it up as each choice is presented to you; start with Path A or B, then work Path B or A and so on. Some clues will provide two choices along the way, a total of six “A or B” decisions to make. With This or That, the adventure is all yours.

Pattern will go on sale June 1, 2024. A placeholder page will be sent out initially with weekly updates as follows:

FOs and WIPs

 Ariana assembly

My Ariana Cardigan by Amy Christoffers moved along but since you can't see it properly without laying it out flat while working on it, you had to often to make sure the pieces were in the right place.

 Ariana assembly

On Sunday, I had all of the pieces assembled and I was ready to knit the hem ribbing.

On Me bday, I picked up and worked the hem ribbing as written using 3.5 mm needles.

On Monday, I picked up 160 plus 2 stitches and worked the hem ribbing as the pattern is written using 3.5 mm needles since I normally use a smaller needle for ribbing. After binding off, I could see the bomber style cinched in look is not what I want. The ribbing is 34 inches while the body is 40 inches. I want the ribbing to be 40 inches as well. 40/34 is 1.176. 160 x 1.176 = 188. I decided on 180 stitches plus 2 using 3.75 mm needles.

 My Ariana assembly

I frogged back to pick up 182 stitches. This is so much better!

The cuff of one sleeve is finished and the other is started.

I am almost finished. The cuff of one sleeve is finished and the other is started. There are a lot of ends to weave in!
