Favourite Patterns Friday, May 3, 2019, Issue 99: Is it Spring yet?

I am ready to start my summer knitting even if the weather has not exactly been cooperating! Elizabeth Smith's Denis popped in my mailbox earlier this week from Quince and Co!

The new Kestrel Collection looks amazing...I love their patterns even if I can't bring their yarn in to the shop! Linen, linen and cotton blends, silk blends...just love those summer yarns!

Denis by Elizabeth Smith...simply gorgeous!

Denis by Elizabeth Smith...simply gorgeous! "Clean lines and a simple structure frame the eyelet ladders in Elizabeth’s tee. We love the back and sleeve details, and the subtle split hem in this piece." Denis has a gauge of 15 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch, after blocking using 5.5 mm (US 9) needles. This will look wonderful knit in Louet Euroflax Sport or a Shibui yarn or mix!

Brin by Allison Jane has a fun construction and pretty twisted stitch details.

Brin by Allison Jane is worked from the top down beginning with sideways-knit shoulder panels with a fun construction and pretty twisted stitch details.

Love the side details of Brin by Allison Jane

The side details are so pretty! Brin was designed to be knit in an aran weight gauge of 17 stitches and 27 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch, after blocking and 19 sts and 30 rows = 4” / 10 cm in the stitch pattern, after blocking. Knit it using 5.0 mm (US 8) needles or the needles to get gauge. Knit it using Berroco Quinoa, Louet Euroflax Sport or Schoppel El Linio.

Love the Hermosa Tee by Robin Allen knit in Louet Euroflax Sport in Teal

Love the Hermosa Tee by Robin Allen knit in Louet Euroflax Sport too! This Tee is worked in one piece from front hem to back hem. You’ll cast on and then bind off stitches for both the cap sleeves and the neck opening while working the yoke. This lacey little tee is perfect to layer over another t-shirt or tank top, or to slip over your bathing suit for a day at the beach. The gauge is 25 stitches and 29 rows = 4 inches in pattern using 3.75 mm (US 5) needles but the sample in the shop has a much larger gauge that I love!

WIP's and FO's

I really wanted to finish my Rainier by Kate Gagnon Osborn but I have been really busy wearing my other job hat! I work exclusively on this one before I work on Joji's Odyssey Shawl that I started a couple of weeks ago and before I start my summer knitting!

Progress on my Rainier on May 1st...I had hoped to finish it by the end of April!

I had really hoped to get it finished by the end of April but I didn't quite make it!

Almost finished my Rainier by Kate Gagnon Osborn knit using Kelbourne Woolens Scout!

I am working on the turtleneck but have not quite decided whether I want it as it is right now (mock turtle) or the 6.5" from the pattern. I have 3" of ribbing right now...The yarn that I am using is amazing to work with and so soft yet rustic! I can't wait to wear it at least a few times before I put away for next fall / winter!
