Free Pattern Fridays - Friday, April 20, 2018, Issue 50: Did you feel the earth rumble last night?

Thursday night Knit Night and then the big loud boom! It sure felt like the floor shook and of course, we all looked at each other and..."What was that???"

Definitely the highlight of our evening! Sandi automatically texted Chris to if he felt it and if he knew anything. Ed went outside and reported that everyone had gone outside to see if anyone knew what had happened! What a night for sure!

Adorable jacket for a baby girl - Charlee Baby Girl Jacket/Coat by Lotta Arnlund

Lise was showing me what new baby knits she will be knitting, I remembered this gem of a pattern! Isn't it the sweetest little jacket for a baby girl? I have had it favourited for ages but of course, I have no granddaughters:) The pattern is Charlee Baby Girl Jacket/Coat by Lotta Arnlund.

Here is the back of Charlee Baby Girl Jacket/Coat by Lotta Arnlund

Even the back detail is beautiful! It requires DK weight yarn for a gauge of 22 stitches = 4 inches using 3.5 mm (US 4) needles. The crocheted edges are worked using a lighter fingering/sport weight for a delicate look. Knit it with Bergere de France Ideal and Drops Alpaca for the crochet edging.

frogdog’s Nakia’s Infinity Scarf (in Marvel’s Black Panther) by Jeff Gillies for machine knitting and recharted and written out for hand knitting by Quecksilvereyes

Pictured is frogdog’s Nakia’s Infinity Scarf (hand knit version) an oversized wrap scarf created from 4 different yarns and a variety of textural stitches, ends grafted to form an infinity Meobius loop. Originally Libby brought this to my attention about a month ago but at that time the pattern was written for machine knitters! The new hand knit version was recharted and written out for hand knitting by Quecksilvereyes and she has been credited as Contributing Editor for this version of the pattern.

jeffgillies’ Nakia’s Infinity Scarf

Pictured above is jeffgillies machine knit version of Nakia's Infinity Shawl (in Marvel’s Black Panther) by Jeff Gillies for machine knitting. The gauge in stockinette is 14 stitches and 18 rows = 4” using 4.0 mm (US 6) and 5.0 mm (US 8) needles. Noro Silk Garden is knit single strand while the other three suggested yarns are knit held double. The finished scarf measurements are 23" by 86" laid flat before grafting the ends together.
