Free Pattern Fridays - Friday, July 20, 2018, Issue 63: Lazy summer days...vacation and family...

I can't wait to relax for the week with my family - especially the babies! All four of my children will be here a few days at the same time as well as my sisters who no live in Ontario and other extended family!

The shop will be closed for vacation from Sunday, July 22 until Monday, July 30 for in-store pickup. The online shop will be open for orders but I will not be shipping and pickup will not be available until Tuesday, July 31st.

FREE PATTERNS

Eyelet Harvest Cardigan by Urth Yarns knit by UrthYarnCS

Eyelet Harvest Cardigan by Urth Yarns is a cool, elegant sweater with mesh fabric on the arms and sides of the bodice compliment the seed stitch collar, lapels and back panel to create a sweater which transitions nicely from office to weekend to throw on over a tank top or camisole. The modified sample shown was knit by UrthYarnCS with 3/4 sleeves and front closure using snaps. The pattern is knit in pieces flat, seamed and has set in sleeves. Knit this using worsted weight yarn with 5.0 mm (US 8) needles for a gauge of 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette.  Knit it in a summer yarn such as Berroco Remix or Butterfly Super 10 or for a fall/winter yarn such as Berroco Ultra Alpaca or Cascade 220 Heathers.

Jalela by Vibe Ulrik Sondergaard for Rowan knit using Rowan Creative Linen

Jalela by Vibe Ulrik Sondergaard for Rowan knit using Rowan Creative Linen is another open and airy summer sweater. For those who don't like seaming, this is another sweater that is knit flat and seamed but I love the look! It is an oversized sweater with a boat neck, dolman sleeves and an open mesh look. Knit it with a DK yarn using 4.0 mm (US 6) and 5.0 mm (US 8) needles for a gauge of 18 stitches and 13 rows = 4 inches in the pattern stitch.

WIP's and FO's

The modified Lion Brand Yarns sweet Heirloom Cables Baby Sweater WIP that is now finished

Last week I cast on the Lion Brand Yarns sweet Heirloom Cables Baby Sweater that I modified and knit without seams. The sleeves however, I decided to knit flat because they had only 21 stitches at the cuff - too narrow for me to want to knit in the round although I could have picked up and knit them down to the cuff since the cables would look the same worked top down or bottom up.

Finished modified Lion Brand Yarns sweet Heirloom Cables Baby Sweater

I finished this adorable little cardigan! I knit it using Bergere de France Alaska which is a heavier yarn than the pattern calls for so I knit the smallest 12 month size to get a size 2.

I used little leather look buttons to finish it off! I love these buttons on any classic baby cardigan.

The adorable little sweater I decided to knit Oliver, the little Rabbit I knit Caleb to match his new Onesie!

After I finished the cabled sweater, I decided to cast on and knit this adorable little sweater for Oliver, the little Rabbit I knit my grandson Caleb to match his new Onesie! I hope to post a picture of him in his Onesie and his toy rabbit soon!

Not a lot of progress on my Swirl Skirt that I am knitting for the Skirt Knit-Along! I think I've been too busy!

Natalie had frogged her Swirl Skirt WIP thinking her gauge was off and that her skirt was too long! It wasn’t too long but now here she is back on track!
