Today has been grey, overcast and a bit wet out. The grass and trees are quickly turning green and starting to bloom. It's the perfect time to start our spring and summer knits!

If you have knit yourself Sommerknus by Elsebeth Judith like I did (shown below), she has just released a light version.

Sommerknus is a round yoke sweater worked from the top down with an all-over textured pattern. It has a gauge of 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch. I used Sandnes Garn Line for my Sommerknus.

Knus Light by Elsebeth Judith is a thinner version of Sommerknus / Knus worked with fingering weight yarn. Enjoy 25% introductory discount to April the 21th (today!!); Midnight Copenhagen time. No code needed.

Knus Light is a round yoke blouse with short sleeves. The short blouse is worked in a textured pattern from the top down with the option of working the lower body in stockinette stitch or the whole blouse in the textured pattern.

This blouse is designed to be worn with a positive ease of 5-10cm/2-4”.

Gauge
10cm x 10cm/4” x 4”: 25 sts over 32 rows/rounds in stockinette stitch and needle 3.5mm/US or the size needed to obtain gauge after blocking.
10cm x 10cm/4” x 4”: 30 sts over 40 rows/rounds in 1x1 unstretched rib and needle 3.0mm/US 2½.

Yarn
680 (720, 800, 840, 900) (980, 1060, 1140, 1220) m/743 (787, 874, 918, 984) (1071, 1159, 1246, 1334) yds. Please keep in mind that yardage is an estimate for working a version with short sleeve in the listed measurements. Add one skein (200m/218yd) more for longer sleeves.

Yarn
For a fresh summer feeling, a heavy fingering / sports weight plant based yarn like a linen (blend) or cotton (blend) is recommended.

One 80 cm / 30” circular needle, in size needed to obtain gauge listed.
Suggested needle size: 3.5 mm / US #4.
Needle B (for the neckline and armhole finishing) One 40 cm / 15” needle, and a set of needles for working small circumferences in the round (DPN’s, 1 long circular or 2 short circulars)
Suggested needle size: 3.25 mm / US #3.

Gauge
Measured after blocking.
Ridged Stockinette pattern on Needle A: 21 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4”.

FOs and WIPs

I finished my last WIP (my Northerly by Caitlin Hunter) last week except for weaving in the ends and blocking it. During our Tuesday Knit Afternoon, I didn't get many ends woven in but I managed to finish sewing them all in and blocking it after everyone left.

On Saturday, Pam came in to get another cake of Schoppel Wolle Edition 3 for her Northerly.

Here’s Pam's and mine together. It looks great no matter which colours you choose!

This is Bogota by Le Styling Knitting that I decided to knit next.

Last Saturday, I cast on my Bogota using BC Garn Bio Balance in colour 27 Marine and a crocheted provisional cast on.

On Wednesday, I had finished the back section.

This morning I took this progress shot where I have picked up for the right front, removed the provisional cast on for the right shoulder and started the right front.

Bogota is a cardigan that suits every mood, from the early sun of spring to the end of the indian summer.
It’s a comfortable and fluid garment thanks to a generous positive ease (37 cm / 14.8’’).

KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

Before my sister Mary left to go back home, we both put on our Susurrus by Joji Locatelli sweaters! I knit mine using the called for Manos del Uruguay Fino in Havisham and Rosewater, and Manos del Uruguay Cabrito in Primrose.

I no longer have the Pom Pom Issue 32 in stock but I still have 2 Susurrus Kits in a teal colourway. The copy of Pom Pom can be purchased HERE.

My sister Mary’s Susurrus is knit using Manos del Uruguay Fino and Garnstudio Drops Kid Silk.

Debbie (@love.knit.spin.weave) finished the Morning Mist by Sidsel J Hoivik found in her book My Knitted Treasures. This beautiful steeked jacket has sequins, beads and embroidered details.

Paulette (@psknitting50) finished this flared cart with yoke from the book More Sweaters by Lise Kolstad and Tone Takle, a book she purchased back in the 80's. Yarn is Sandnes Garn Sisu, Tukuwool and The Fibre Co. Amble.
