 - Sanitize your hands upon entry

 - The time limit will be 15 minutes if there are people waiting

Keep in mind that according to Ontario law, if you are exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID, you have to quarantine in your home for 14 days, even if your tests come back negative.

Olive Knits 4 Day KAL

The pattern for the Fireworks 4 Day KAL by Marie Greene of Olive Knits is now available for pre-order on Ravelry with a $2 savings (no code needed) until June 25th when the price goes up to $11usd. The official pattern will be added to your Ravelry library on July 1st (early). Check back for the pattern when the time comes and join us for the cast on party!

The theme for the 2021 Olive Knits 4 Day KAL is Fireworks.

The 4 Day Knitalong has never been about 4 days – not really. It’s about knitting a sweater faster than you thought we could – and doing it with the energy, enthusiasm, and support of the Olive Knits community.

This year, with hope on the horizon, we’re embracing the 5th Annual 4 Day Knitalong with renewed energy and joy. Join us for the knitting party of the year – a celebration of life, friendship, and brighter days. Fireworks is a celebration in the stitches!

The shop is participating and will be donating one of the prizes. Pattern photos started popping up on Instagram on June 7th from participating shops. Mine, I am afraid has only been cast on...I am knitting mine using The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light in Orla. Kelbourne Woolens Scout and Madelinetosh Tosh DK have been used by other participating shops!

So far I have only cast on and worked a few rounds of the 2x2 ribbing on my Fireworks 4 Day KAL sweater.

WIPs and FOs

Well I am getting close to finishing my Rhys by Alison Green but I am not finished yet!

This is how much I had done on Saturday on my Rhys.

I cast on Rhys for the Berroco Cardi Party 2.0 using the yarn and pattern that I won for their Cardi Party 1.0! The Berroco Cardi Party is running from May 15-June 25th. We could make our cardigans in Berroco Yarns OR a Berroco cardigan pattern in any yarn!

Ten more rows and the ribbing are all that remains on sleeve 2!

Ten more rows and then the ribbing are all that remains on sleeve 2! I am using Berroco Cambria in Juniper which is a DK weight luxurious blend of baby alpaca, linen, and lyocell.

Rhys as designed is a cropped cardigan featuring columns of eyelets and a wide garter stitch front band. I modified mine by knitting 18 repeats instead of 10 repeats of the first 4 row repeat. The back piece is knit following size 44.5 while the fronts are knit following size 52. I will knit narrower front band in the 3 x 1 ribbing instead of the garter stitch bands..

On Monday, I decided to cast on Frog and Toad by Kristina Ingrid McGowan for my grandson’s upcoming birthday!

On Monday, I decided to put my Rhys on hold and cast on Frog and Toad by Kristina Ingrid McGowan for my grandson’s upcoming birthday gift.

Progress on my Frog!

It calls for DK weight yarn so I am using Berroco Vintage DK in Fennel. The designer used 2.25 mm (US 1) needles which is a very tight gauge even though I am a very loose knitter.

Getting the eyes started!

The frog is now waiting for me to attach the eyes. It is unbelievably cute already!

KNIT GROUP AND GALLERY

The newest Knit-Alongs are the Any Sweater / Shawl KAL and the Knit Any Project: the everlasting knit-along to encourage and support you to knit is running from May 1 to August 31, 2021. I will get a thread started soon!

Remember to post photos to the finished object (FO) thread when you finish a project during the Knit-Along so that you will be included in the next draw! We will also add the option of posting your finished project to Instagram using the #sue2knitskal so that I can find them!
