Friday, March 25, 2022, Issue 241: Happy Friday!

The first day of spring was a few days ago but it doesn't feel like it yet with it being grey and chilly out! It is still sweater weather out there but I do admit to wanting to start warm weather knits!

Pictured above is Laurel (Jumper)) by Along Avec Anna, a sweater with a pretty colourwork motif all over the body and the sleeves. It uses a variegated yarn, but will also work if you want to use gradient mini skeins or yarn leftovers for the contrasting colours.

Instead of a light main colour, Lucinda Iglesias of Monttricot used a dark base! Wonderful!

The construction is top-down: the neckline is cast-on and knitted with 2x2 ribbing, then short rows are made to raise the back of the sweater compared to the front. The yoke is then knitted with the colorwork motif. The sleeves are put on hold in order to knit the body which is planned to be crop length; once the body is done, the stitches for the sleeves are put back on the needle and they are then knitted one by one.

I haven’t decided yet but this is what I was leaning towards for mine!

I haven’t decided yet but this is what I was leaning towards for mine! I already wound the skein of the natural Tough Love Sock. There isn't the yardage in a mini skein but if I change it to use 5 coloours plus a main colour, I should be fine!

Yarn:
A: Schoppel Wolle Admiral (col. 4780) - 100g (420m).
B: Lang LINELLO (col. 0050) - 170g (480m).
I did not find a suitable yellow yarn and used this color. But I removed the lilac areas. You can use any other yellow yarn. You will need approximately 450 - 480 meters.

Suggested Yarn: Schoppel Wolle Wool Finest or Urth Yarns Harvest Fingering for MC, Lang Mille Colori Baby, Urth Yarns Uneek Fingering or Schoppel Wolle Zauberball for the CC.

Size: width - 170cm. / height - 60 cm.

Circular knitting needles: 2.5 mm (long - 60cm) or use long double pointed needles.

Gauge: 26sts and 35 rows = 10 cm х 10 cm

I tried my Inovec a few times while working on it. I took this one last week.

I tried on my Inovec by Karin Fernandes a few times while working on it. I took this photo last week.

Inovec was a quick knit with a high-low hemline.

Inovec was a quick knit using the 4.5 mm needles that I used to get gauge instead of the recommended 5.5 mm needles.

I like the look and feel of the Noro Enka that I chose to use.

I like the high-low hemline and I like the look and feel of the Noro Enka that I chose to use. I followed the pattern but realized after finishing most of the yoke increases that I didn’t do the KB-Inc correctly. I misread the instructions and knit into the right left leg of the next stitch and without slipping the stitch off, I knit this stitch. As long as you use the same method for your increase throughout for consistency, you could easiily use any M1 increase.
