Autumn is here with leaves that have started changing and our evenings getting crisp and cool. It is the perfect time to knit a hat, mitts or that perfect sweater weather pullover or cardigan.

 

Pressed Leaves by Alan’s Dakos is a Romantic beret that features a lovely stitch pattern reminiscent of leaves pressed between the pages of a book.

 

Pressed Leaves by Alana Dakos is a romantic beret that features a lovely stitch pattern reminiscent of leaves pressed between the pages of a book. Pressed Leaves is knit using a double knit weight of yarn for a gauge of 20 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch using 4.5 mm (US 7) needles oor as required to get gauge and 3.75 mm (US 5) needles for ribbing. Knit it with one skein of Madelinetosh Tosh DK, Estelle Alpaca Merino DK, Berroco Vintage DK or Rowan Felted Tweed.

You will need less than 100g of sport weight yarn such as Berroco Ultra Alpaca Lightfor a gauge of 28 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette st itch using 3.25 mm (US 3) needles or as required to get gauge.

#01 Yoked Pullover by Norah Gaughan can be found in Vogue Knitting, Early Fall 2018. This jewel-bright pullover, knit in Kelbourne Woolens Andorra in Sunshine Yellow, has a beautifully intricate yoke detail. The front and back lower ribbed sections are worked separately back and forth to create side vents, then stitches are joined to work body in the round to the underarm. Sleeves are worked in the round from the cuff to the underarm, then all stitches are joined to work yoke and neck.

It is knit using sport weight yarn with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles for a gauge of 24 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette or as required to get gauge.

You really can use anything that catches you eye for your weft. Here Kathy is using Berroco Millefiori Light in Sunflower (the shop has very little left of this yarn).

The newest Knit-Alongs are the Any Sweater / Shawl KAL and the Knit Any Project: our everlasting knit-along to encourage and support you to knit is running from September 1 to December 31, 2021. I will get a thread started soon!
